Project name: Assistance, Counseling and Support (ASC) Program

Project description: The ASC Program provides in‐home long‐term counseling and support to help better address the comprehensive needs of families experiencing domestic violence who are at high risk of lethality. An ASC clinician provides therapeutic interventions for cases involving trauma, substance abuse, or mental health concerns. Community Case Managers are placed in police departments identified with the highest LAP activities. Program hours have been expanded to include the most active weekend and evening hours. This expansion provides a more collaborated and immediate response between advocates and police to follow‐up on those Lethality Assessment Program calls that are assessed as High Risk for Lethality. This expansion increases the availability of in‐person emergency and supportive services to those in crisis. The agency provides services to the cities and towns of Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Bethany, Branford, Derby, East Haven, Guilford, Hamden, Madison, Milford, New Haven, North Branford, North Haven, Orange, Oxford, Seymour, Shelton, West Haven, and Woodbridge.

Project name: HOPE Family Justice Center

Project description: The HOPE Family Justice Center (HFJC) is a multi‐disciplinary team of professionals who provide coordinated services to victims of family violence. The program offers comprehensive services including counseling and safety planning to victims and children; advocacy; links to Juvenile, Family, and Criminal court; as well as access to on‐site professionals providing civil legal services, job training and placement assistance, public benefits assistance, and mental health services. The HFJC offices also include a trauma‐sensitive and private space for advocates and prosecutors to meet with victims. The project addresses barriers to obtaining services and provides a framework for the coordination of all prevention and intervention services for victims of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and elder abuse in the area.

Project Name: Advocacy and Clinical Mental Health Supports for LEP/LatinX Adult and Child Victims of Domestic Violence in Bridgeport

Project description: The Center for Family Justice will provide expanded advocacy services to LEP/LatinX adult and child victims of domestic violence in Bridgeport, and build new internal capacity to provide clinical mental health counseling to adults, children, and family units (excluding abusers). The program also includes expanded outreach to institutions and partners to increase visibility, understanding of rights and resources, and create trust with a population that suffers from under‐reporting of domestic violence.

Project Name: Charlotte’s Place Project

Project description: Provides outpatient trauma‐focused individual, family, and group therapy services for child and adolescent victims of sexual abuse, sexual assault, physical abuse, and domestic violence, as well as non‐offending parents and family members impacted by the crimes. Additionally, the project provides case management, advocacy, victim’s compensation education, and a non‐offending parent support group. Project Description: Provides trauma‐focused outpatient therapy services for adults who have been victims of sexual assault during their lifetime. Clifford W Beers Guidance Clinic

Program Name: Project CATCH (Collaboration, Advocacy, and Treatment for Children)

Project Description: Project CATCH provides supportive services to meet the needs of victims to help them stabilize their lives. The project serves adult and child victims of domestic violence and/or sexual abuse and adults who were sexually abused as children. The program also serves victims of human trafficking, and teen dating victimization. A new service, the Trauma, Bullying and Recovery Education and Intervention Program to help youth victims of bullying overcome vengeance craving, has been added to the program. Project CATCH will also begin providing services at the South Central Child Advocacy Center. The agency serves the cities and towns of New Haven, East Haven, Hamden, North Haven, and West Haven.

Community Child Guidance Clinic

Program Name: Victims of Crime Assistance Program

Project Description: Provides crisis intervention, psychotherapy, information and referral, criminal justice advocacy and support, assistance with compensation applications, phone consultation, assistance with victim impact statements, and follow‐up services in addition to collaborating with other agencies who are serving victims of crime. This project focuses on violent crime categories that include child/physical abuse, child sexual abuse, assault, domestic violence, bullying, sex trafficking, teen dating violence, and survivors of homicide. Community Mental Health Affiliates

Program Name: Community Connections for Survivors

Project Description: Serves victims of crime in CT, including male and female victims of crime residing in Connecticut correctional institutions, prior to their release and re‐entry into the community. Clinical case managers provide clinical therapy and case management to address trauma, and to work with victims on an Individual Plan of Care. Clinical case managers also offer crisis intervention and comprehensive case management, which includes linking clients to needed services; providing information and referral; personal advocacy; and accompaniment to court proceedings, forensic exams, police interviews, and dispute resolution proceedings. A Drop‐in Center provides peer support, and opportunities for life skills and healing family time. Locations served: cities and towns of the following courts:

Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence

Program Name: Sexual Violence Intervention and Advocacy Services

Project Description: The project, through subcontracts with nine community‐based member sexual assault crisis services programs, trains and certifies volunteers and staff, and provides victims of sexual assault and their families and friends with free, confidential and victim‐ centered crisis intervention and short‐term counseling, information and referral, support advocacy, and accompaniment services. Services are available at the member centers and through the 24‐hour English and Spanish sexual assault crisis hotlines. Legal services are provided by the new Victim Rights Center of Connecticut program. The program provides services to survivors whose offenders are supervised as a part of the state’s specialized sex offender management program. The Alliance coordinates statewide services, provide training and technical assistance to its member centers and community partners, and participate in multisystem interagency activities to support services to victims of sexual violence.

Program Name: Sex Offender Victim Advocate Program

Project Description: Victim advocates serve as team members of the statewide Sex Offender Supervision Units. The victim representatives provide supportive services to victims of sex offenders who are released on probation; and serve as a liaison between the victim and the unit, ensuring that each victim has an opportunity to provide input into the process. Program Name: Connecticut Children’s Sexual Abuse Medical Services for Northern CT

Project Description: Program ensures that medical services for sexually abused children are available routinely in all communities in Northern Connecticut, and that current standards of care are met in all of these communities. The project supports established regional examiners; satellite services to northern areas of the state without such services; and ongoing education for statewide examiners. Project Description: The project subcontracts for a network of domestic violence advocates to provide a continuum of services to court‐based, community, and residential victims of family violence. Project Description: This project implements a coordinated, statewide case management system to enhance access to, and utilization of victim and mental health services and to help restore victims to higher levels of functioning. Project name: Case Management Services for Foreign Born Victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Child Abuse

Project Description: This project expands CIRI’s Project Rescue to provide case management services to foreign‐born victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. Domestic Violence Crisis Center

Program Name: H.E.L.P./ S.A.F.E.

Project Description: The Helpful Emergency Legal Project (H.E.L.P.) offers Intimate Partner Victims (IPV) free one‐on‐one legal consultations and representation assistance in family court within days of the abuser’s removal from the home. The Secure Adobes Financial Empowerment (S.A.F.E.) project supports the on‐going work of the SustainAbilityCT (iACT) Project and the Center for Residential Services to provide no‐cost services and transitional housing for IPV individuals. Project Description: Program offers mental health sessions, specifically for survivors of emotional, physical, financial, or sexual abuse by a partner and children who have witnessed domestic violence in the home. Program Name: Victim Assistance Project

Project Description: Program provides direct victim services to victims and survivors of alcohol and drugged related crashes with the assistance of trained and certified MADD Victim Service Specialists and volunteers. Any surviving family or injured victim that contacts MADD CT is assigned a Victim Service Specialist who will provide emotional support and guidance through the criminal justice system, throughout the grieving process and eventual recovery. Program Name: Empower Together Program

Project Description: ETP provides the following free services to victims of crime: trauma informed education, advocacy, and mental health care to any senior, adult, teen, or child affected by domestic or dating violence, mass violence, rape or sexual assault, homicide, elder abuse, child abuse, physical assault, bullying (including verbal, cyber‐bullying or physical), and other crimes through three components: Outpatient Mental Health and Case Management, Elder Abuse Case Management, and Grief Support. Program Name: Child First and Rapid Response Victim Assistance Programs

Project Description: This project provides an in‐home treatment service (Child First) for children under 6 years of age and their families who have been impacted by crime. This program works with families impacted by domestic violence that are linked to Interval House. The project will continue the Early Childhood Rapid Response programming for children under 6 and their families who have been impacted by crime and it will also expand the Rapid Response program to serve children ages 7‐17. Yale University School of Medicine

Program Name: Yale Child Sexual Abuse Clinic

Project Description: The project serves child victims of sexual abuse, who are evaluated at the Yale Child Sexual Abuse Clinic and at the Bridgeport satellite clinic. A child life specialist provides education and support to children who are evaluated with a forensic interview and/or a forensic medical examination. Clinic social workers provide family advocacy services of support and education to parents. The Bridging Program provides engagement in care and case management as part of the short‐term mental health services for child victims and their parents. The project has expanded to provide forensic medical exams in the Norwalk/Stamford and New London MDT regions; increased Spanish‐speaking forensic interviews at the Yale Clinic, Bridgeport satellite office, and Waterbury MDT; and forensic interviews for child victims of physical abuse, or witness to crimes such as homicide or domestic violence.
