Project name: Assistance, Counseling and Support (ASC) Program Project description: The ASC Program provides in‐home long‐term counseling and support to help better address the comprehensive needs of families experiencing domestic violence who are at high risk of lethality. An ASC clinician provides therapeutic interventions for cases involving trauma, substance abuse, or mental health concerns. Community Case Managers are placed in police departments identified with the highest LAP activities. Program hours have been expanded to include the most active weekend and evening hours. This expansion provides a more collaborated and immediate response between advocates and police to follow‐up on those Lethality Assessment Program calls that are assessed as High Risk for Lethality. This expansion increases the availability of in‐person emergency and supportive services to those in crisis. Project name: HOPE Family Justice Center Project description: The HOPE Family Justice Center (HFJC) is a multi‐disciplinary team of professionals who provide coordinated services to victims of family violence. The program offers comprehensive services including counseling and safety planning to victims and children; advocacy; links to Juvenile, Family, and Criminal court; as well as access to on‐site professionals providing civil legal services, job training and placement assistance, public benefits assistance, and mental health services. The HFJC offices also include a trauma‐sensitive and private space for advocates and prosecutors to meet with victims. The project addresses barriers to obtaining services and provides a framework for the coordination of all prevention and intervention services for victims of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and elder abuse in the Greater New Haven area. The project serves adult and child victims of domestic violence and/or sexual abuse and adults who were sexually abused as children. The program also serves victims of human trafficking, and teen dating victimization. A new service, the Trauma, Bullying and Recovery Education and Intervention Program to help youth victims of bullying overcome vengeance craving, has been added to the program.
