I’ve been using Logic Pro X since it came out as Emagic’s Notator back in the Nineties and one thing hasn’t changed - the importance of ! Not only does it increase your productivity but it also reveals hidden features not easily accessible by menus. So here are my favourite shortcuts that any Logic user should know….

Copy Paste automation data from one track to another (Must be same parameter) ⌘C to copy ⌘V to paste

⌥Click on automation parameter drop-down to copy one automation lane to another (This works with different parameters)

MARQUEE TOOL SHORTCUTS

Double click with Marquee tool to cut regions

Highlight a selection with Marquee tool and then single-click in centre to split the highlighted area

Highlight a selection with Marquee tool and hit ˽ to play from start of Marquee selection

Highlight section to automate with Marquee tool and click to create four automation nodes at selection borders (In conjunction with snap to grid this makes for very easy and accurate automation creation!)

When in doubt of the location of a feature, go menu diving! or ⌃click or right mouse-click on blank sections of windows (such as the Track List, Control Bar etc) to open the various menus.
