This file system recognised by browsers and interactive and therefore used in interactive web pages. It is suitable for creating logos. People working in the field of graphics often have to use different media. In such situations it is possible to use svg images without losing clarity. T3. Give example for Raster image editing software. Answer.: GIMP T4. Give example for Vector image editing software. Answer: Inkscape, LibreOffice Draw, Karbon, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, are different types of vector imaging software. T5. Distinguish between Raster and Vector files Answer : The images on a computer are formed by many colourful tiny squares (pixels) For creating raster images, the colour and size of each pixel will be mentioned in the program. These are called Bitmap images. But, a vector image is constructed by means of the defining path between the two points (start point and end point).This path could be part of any geometric shape like a straight line, square, triangle or a curve. Lab 1.3 - (Understanding Inkscape ) Open the software inkscape in the computer and get familiarised with the desktop write all the tools name in the tool box. Step 1: Application > Graphics > Inkscape Vector Graphics Editor Step2: In the left side of the opening window, move cursor to each icon and write down the purposes of each tool. Eg:- 1. Select and transform object. 2. Edit paths by nodes T6. Write a note on Inkscape software. Answer: Inkscape is a Free graphic editing software. It is used for creating and editing mainly svg images. It can import bitmap images and edit them.

Lab 1-4 to 12 (Logo Creation -Drawing the Saucer and tea cup) ( Write this in IT Practical Book ) Step1 : Application →Graphics→ Ink scape Vector Graphics. (For removing page border File →Document properties →Remove the tick mark on 'show page border'. ) Step2 : Take 'Create circle ' tool. And draw an oval horizontally. Step3: Select the Oval using selection tool. Take 'Object →Fill and Stroke' . From 'Fill' tab select 'Radial Gradient' . Step4: Click on 'Gradient ' tool in the tool box. Click on nodes and give colours to the object. We can select colours from the colour palette. Give dark colour to the out line. Step5: Take duplicate of the picture by right clicking or 'Edit-duplicate' and draw this picture. For moving the circles we can use Shift + arrow keys or merely arrow keys. Step6: For removing inner circle from outer select first outer circle then press shift key then select inner circle and use 'path →Difference'. Step7: using the same techniques we can draw a Cup also. For this draw oval shapes vertically. Draw the cup in the picture. For drawing handle use Path-Difference.

Step8: To draw the steam above the cup. Draw few lines using Calligraphic brush tool. Select all of them together and give a suitable colour. Select Fill and stroke and adjust the blur tool to modify the line to look like steam.

Www.snmhss.org Step9: Adding logo text. For this type the text “Snmhss cup and saucer”. Type the text using. “Create and edit Text objects”

Step 10: Draw a semi circle. Then take “ Text →Put on Path “ . Adjust this into our logo. Give white colour to semi circle then we get a curved text.

Step 11: Draw a rectangle, select the rectangle and give colour green and type the text “Taste the Real taste of Nature “ and give colour white to the text.

Step 12 : Saving file. For saving File →Save. Give file name Lab456.svg to your folder. To save the file in png format (Portable Network Graphic ) File →Export PNG image then select your folder in png dialogue box then click on export. Lab 1.13 (Creating a Banner )

Step1:Application →Graphics→ Ink scape Vector Graphics. Step 2: File →Import → Lab456.svg or Lab456.png in the dialogue box make sure Image import type is “embed”. Step 3 : Draw a rectangle and give this as the background for the logo.
