Abstract: Today’s digital age makes it possible for people to communicate via video or images. Therefore, computer graphics is part of the elementary school curriculum. The paper is aimed at updating computer science education at Czech elementary schools; it shows how pupils could develop their computational thinking when creating vector graphics based on basic geometric shapes such as a circle, ellipse, square, rectangle and others. The following methods were chosen to present the proposed processes: verbal expression for an algorithm, visual projection and a flowchart. 1 INTRODUCTION algorithmization and algorithmic thinking in all these situations. Schools and school facilities are currently trying to respond to dynamic changes related to the 1.2 Algorithm, Algorithmic Thinking development of digital technologies. Computer graphics can be divided into: . Raster graphics, . Vector graphics. Both vector and raster graphics have their unique features such as the properties of graphic files and the way they are used. One of the main differences is the way in which a particular object is described (Procházková et al., 2007). While raster graphics uses pixels, vector graphics is based on Bézier curves and mathematical shapes (circles, ellipses, polygons, etc.) defined by mathematical equations. Both raster and vector graphics can also be used at another graphic level. Vector graphics is used for creating illustrations, diagrams, promotional materials Figure 5: The song “Hey Jude”. Beketov National University of Urban Economy in Kharkiv Inkscape is a cross-platform, powerful enough and in many ways competitive free vector graphics editor with open source code, and in which the SVG format is used as the main standard for work. It is convenient for creating both artistic and technical illustrations. Inkscape is an analogue of such graphic editors as Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, Xara X and Freehand. Intended use: - illustrations for office circulars, presentations, creation of logos, business cards, posters; - technical illustrations (diagrams, graphics, etc.); - vector graphics for high-quality printing (with preliminary import of SVG into Scribus); - web graphics – from banners to site layouts, icons for applications and website buttons, - graphics for games. Main characteristics of Inkscape: - the program is free and distributed under the GNU General Public License; - cross-platform; - the program supports the following document formats: import – almost all popular and frequently used formats: SVG, JPEG, GIF, BMP, EPS, PDF, PNG, ICO, and many additional ones, such as SVGZ, EMF, PostScript, AI, Dia, Sketch, TIFF, XPM, WMF, WPG, GGR, ANI, CUR, PCX, PNM, RAS, TGA, WBMP, XBM, XPM; export – the main formats are PNG and SVG and many additional EPS, PostScript, PDF, Dia, AI, Sketch, POV-Ray, LaTeX, OpenDocument Draw, GPL, EMF, POV, DXF; - there is support for layers; -

We adapted the review method from the PRISMA-ScR protocol. Pubmed, Embase, Web of Science, and Scopus were searched until June 2020 with the following keywords: Vector Graphics Editor, Vector Graphics Editor Dentistry, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Illustrator Dentistry, Coreldraw, Coreldraw Dentistry, Inkscape, Inkscape Dentistry. This guide (developed in the context of the FLOSSMETRICS and OpenTTT projects) present a set of guidelines and suggestions for the adoption of open source software within SMEs, using a ladder model that will guide companies from the initial selection and adoption of FLOSS within the IT infrastructure up to the creation of suitable business models based on open source software. The guide is split into an introduction to FLOSS and a catalog of open source applications, selected to fulfill the requests that were gathered in the interviews and audit in the OpenTTT project. The application areas are infrastructural software (ranging from network and system management to security), ERP and CRM applications, groupware, document management, content management systems (CMS), VoIP, graphics/CAD/GIS systems, desktop applications, engineering and manufacturing, vertical business applications and eLearning. This is the third edition of the guide; the guide is distributed under a CC-attribution-sharealike 3.0 license. The author is Carlo Daffara ([email protected]). In modern businesses, computer hardware and software and ancillaries are a major cost factor. It is worthwhile for every business to investigate how best it can leverage the power of open source software to reduce expenses and increase revenues. Businesses that restrict themselves to proprietary software like Microsoft Office get a raw deal. Not only do they have to pay for the software but they have to factor-in the cost incurred in every instance the software becomes corrupt. This includes the fee required to be paid to the computer technician to re-install the software. All this creates a vicious environment where cost and delays keep mounting. It should be a primary aim of every business to develop a system where maintenance becomes automated to the maximum possible extent. This is where open source software like LibreOffice, Apache OpenOffice, Scribus, GIMP, Inkscape, Firefox, Thunderbird, WordPress, VLC media player, etc. come in.
