    2017 Honos Civicus Inductees Tufts University School of Medicine Public Health and Professional Degree Programs Tufts University School of Dental Medicine Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy The Honos Civicus Society, an initiative of the Tisch College of Civic Life, selects and publicly recognizes graduating students from all Tufts schools who engaged in meaningful service and leadership activities or otherwise strengthened civic life, on campus and beyond, during their time at Tufts. Each year, honorees from the schools of medicine, dental medicine, and nutrition come together on the Boston campus for a joint induction ceremony in which we celebrate their accomplishments and encourage them to strengthen their commitments to civic life within the health professions. 2017 Honos Civicus Inductees Tufts University School of Medicine Nathan J. Bankoff Nathan has focused on improving quality of life for adolescents and young adults affected by cancer. He has been an active member of Kids in Chemotherapy and their Students (KICS), a program that pairs medical students with pediatric patients undergoing cancer treatment at the Floating Hospital. He has also been a Senior Board Member in the Reid R. Sacco Adolescent & Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Alliance for ten years. The AYA Cancer Alliance is a foundation based in Nathan’s hometown, which raises funds and awareness for the treatment of cancers affecting the AYA population. Throughout medical school, he has served as a liaison between the foundation and the Reid R. Sacco AYA Program for Cancers & Blood Diseases at Tufts Medical Center, helping to connect community fundraising efforts to tangible clinical and educational outcomes.
