No updates have been made to reflect subsequent developments or appointments since the completion of the review. 2 Boston College Type: General further education college Location: The college’s Rochford campus is based in Boston on Skirbeck Road. There are also 3 other centres in Boston: Peter Paine Performance Centre where the sports provision is delivered Sam Newsom Centre is the base for music and performing arts students Ingelow Centre supports students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and high needs The college also has a centre in Spalding, which delivers some programmes to 16 to 18 year olds and to adults Local Enterprise Partnership: Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership Principal: Amanda Mosek Corporation Chair: Peter Cropley Main offer: The college offers academic and technical programmes including GCSEs, A levels, traineeships, apprenticeships, HNC/HNDs, and access to higher education adult courses The college delivers 16-19 study programmes (A levels and technical) across all sector subject areas with provision in most areas from entry/level 1 up to level 3 It also provides apprenticeships in most subject sector areas at intermediate and advanced levels, and higher apprenticeships in care and accountancy Details about the college offer can be reviewed on the Boston College website Specialisms: The college has a Care Academy delivering provision from level 1 for unemployed learners up to level 5 for care home managers Partnerships: Boston College collaborates with New College Stamford and Grantham College through the South Lincolnshire Colleges’ Collaboration The college works in partnership with Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln in relation to higher education 3 It works closely with the NHS on the delivery of apprenticeships and with a number of independent training providers to deliver apprenticeships and other forms of work based learning The college receives funding from: Education Funding Agency Skills Funding Agency Higher Education Funding Council For the 2014 to 2015 academic year, the college’s total income was £17,349,000 Ofsted inspections: The college was inspected in June 2014 and was assessed as good 4 Franklin Sixth Form College Type: Sixth-form college Location: Franklin Sixth Form College is situated west of Grimsby town centre, in the Grange area of the town Local Enterprise Partnership: Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership Humber Local Enterprise Partnership Principal: Trevor Wray Corporation Chair: Alex Baxter Main offer: Franklin Sixth Form College offers around 150 different course options from level 1 to level 3, including level 1 and 2 technical courses, BTECs, A levels, AS levels, GCSEs and a growing number of apprenticeships and traineeships Details about the college offer can be reviewed on the Franklin Sixth Form College website Specialisms: 16 to 19 learning specifically in developing progression pathways for young people and supporting schools in the northern Lincolnshire area to improve their 14-16 provision Partnerships: In 2016, Franklin Sixth Form College began a new partnership arrangement with the NHS in northern Lincolnshire, providing a specific pathway into employment for allied health professionals (including radiography, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and pharmacy) The college receives funding from: Education Funding Agency Skills Funding Agency For the 2014 to 2015 academic year, the college’s total income was: £8,210,000 Ofsted inspections: The college was inspected in October 2016 and was assessed as requires improvement 5 Grantham College Type: General further education college Location: The college is based near the centre of Grantham, Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership: Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership Chief Executive: Linda Houtby Corporation Chair: Mos Kalbassi Main offer: Grantham College offers 16 to 18 further education study programmes, adult education, apprenticeships, higher education, bespoke employer programmes and community provision.
