ABOUT OPC What we do: •Contemporary Art Exhibitions • Talks • Lectures• Workshops • Movie projections • Literary Events• Performances• Documentaries Ofcina de Proyectos Culturales (Ofce for Cultural Projects ) is an independent non-proft arts organization dedicated to fostering dialogue through exhibitions, round table discussions, public art and, arts education programs. OPC works with artists, architects, curators, academics, and writers who explore ideas that shape our city and to develop cultural programming that is frmly rooted in Puerto Vallarta, yet international in scope. In just four years, OPC has established itself as a vibrant institution recognized both nationally and internationally. The organization was founded by arts professionals committed to the cultural development of Puerto Vallarta. OPC works with artists, architects, curators, academics, and writers who explore ideas that shape our city. OPC develops cultural programming that is frmly rooted in Puerto Vallarta OPC is born with the aim of contributing to the refection on the contemporary sociocultural and artistic environment, with the vocation to share with Puerto Vallarta and its visitors. In just four years, OPC has established itself as a dynamic institution recognized both nationally and internationally. Located in the heart of downtown Puerto Vallarta, at the crossroads of tourists and locals, the OPC building has been transformed from an abandoned Sherwin-Williams paint shop into a dynamic interdisciplinary space dedicated to contemporary arts through a generous donation to the use of the building, two blocks from the boardwalk and meters from the oldest elementary school in the area. Founded by arts professionals committed to the cultural development of Puerto Vallarta, OPC works with artists, architects, curators, academics and writers who explore ideas that shape our city. OPC develops cultural programming righteously OUR FACILITIES OPC is located on Calle Juarez 598, in the historic center of Puerto Vallarta, in a building loaned to the organization by the Barlow family. It has a space of 110 square meters of gallery, the Martha and David Haynes Educational Garden, the OPC Workshop, two apartments that house the OPC ofce and the Pulpo Rojo production workshop. EXHIBITIONS 2014-2018 Since 2014, OPC has organized 16 exhibitions with a list of internationally renowned cultural leaders, including curators Henry Eric Hernandez, Carlos Ashida, Pilar Tompkins Rivas, Rubén Méndez, and Mariana Botey; and exhibited individual and group exhibitions of artists such as Francisco Toledo, Los Carpinteros, Carlos Garaicoa, Gil Garea, Fallen Fruit, John Baldessari, Jorge Prado, Ivan Puig, Andrea Zittel, Ruben Ortiz Torres, Dr. Lakra, Laureana Toledo, Pae White , Fernando Palomar, Marcos Ramírez ERRE, Sylvia Gruner, Miguel Calderón, Jorge Méndez Blake, José Dávila, Gonzalo Lebrija, among others. OPC also collaborates with museums and institutions to develop traveling exhibitions. These exhibitions have been requested by other cultural institutions and have traveled to spaces such as the Ex-Convento del Carmen and the Museum of Arts (MUSA) of the University of Guadalajara; the San Luis Potosí Arts Center; Galería Jesús Gallardo at the Cultural Institute of León; and at the General Mexican Consulate in Los Angeles during Pacifc Standard Time: LA / LA. OPC recently had the honor of being included in the book Contemporary Art in Mexico: A Guide to Galleries, Museums and Alternative Spaces, published by Editorial Travesías. DeLIMITations is a 3800 kilometer installation, invoking exploration Artists: and conquest expeditions from the 19th century, the two artists Marcos Ramírez ERRE and David set out to draw the border between Mexico and the United States Taylor as it existed in 1821. This border was never examined and the registration of its brief history of twenty-seven years only exists in the form of treaty documents and old maps.
