We called this list a collection of Trump’s cruelties, collusions, and crimes, and it felt urgent then to track them, to ensure these horrors — happening almost daily — would not be forgotten. This election year, amid a harrowing global health, civil rights, humanitarian, and economic crisis, we know it’s never been more critical to note these horrors, to remember them, and to do all in our power to reverse them. - - - Various writers have compiled this list during the course of the Trump administration. 2017 Research Abstracts Selection for Podium or Poster Presentation TOP PODIUM PRESENTATION Social Media and Military Medicine SFC Paul E. Loos, NCOIC Surgery, Anesthesia, Records and Reports Section, Special Forces Medical Sergeants Course, Joint Special Operations Medical Training Facility, Fort Bragg, NC Background: As technology in communications advances, best practices in tactical or military medicine can be shared at the speed of creation. Currently best practices are spread through the publishing of texts, scholarly journal articles, word of mouth, or during periodic refresher courses. This leaves many tactical medical providers and medical directors using different protocols and recommendations for patient care. The goal of my presentation is to inform and empower medical providers to more efficiently disseminate needed medical information to medics in their charge utilizing modern communications techniques. Methods: Trial and error and 3 years of experience. Results: 160,000 hits on our website made by over 70,000 unique IP addresses around the world on our blog posts, podcasts and recommendations. Discussion: Due to a variety of reasons, military medics are not getting the most up to date information regarding the treatment of casualties throughout the gamut of tactical medicine. I will submit a layered approach using multiple solutions in improving communication of current best practices and recommendations from unit surgeons down to the end-user medic on the ground. This will include discussions on social media use, and etiquette, by military members to include different social media platforms as well as current USSOCOM and DOD policy. Depending on the content to be released, various social media sites are better used for certain purposes.

  • Breakfast Club
Monday, 5 Oct 2020 Breakfast Club Good morning, Monday. Over the weekend, Donald Trump’s physician admitted to giving a misleading statement about the president receiving oxygen, the latest in a series of contradictory and confusing accounts about Trump’s coronavirus infection. White House physician Sean Conley told reporters Sunday that Trump had received supplemental oxygen on Friday, after saying the previous day that the president hadn’t been treated with oxygen on Friday. He gave the misleading information initially to “reflect the upbeat attitude” of Trump and his doctors. Broadly, White House officials have repeatedly described Trump’s health as improving even while doctors were administering a rising number of drugs. He received Regeneron’s therapeutic on Friday, and later that night began a treatment course of Gilead’s remdesivir intravenously. Trump had been given dexamethasone, his third therapeutic treatment in as many days. Dexamethasone is used to calm an overly active inflammatory response to the infection, one that typically doesn’t start until the virus has been present for some time. Trump receiving it at this stage is a sign that doctors may think the illness is progressing quicker than expected, or that he’d actually contracted it earlier. Later Sunday evening, Trump unexpectedly left the hospital to greet supporters, waving to them from his motorcade in a bid to demonstrate strength. Biden and Harris both tested negative for the virus. On the right, the VIX, or fear gauge, jumped as much as 12% -- the most since Sept. 3 -- on Friday following Trump’s announcement he has the virus.

CSPAN Suspends Steve Scully for Lying About His Twitter Account Being Hacked - Statement WASHINGTON, October 15 (Sputnik) - The cable network C-SPAN said in a statement on Thursday that it has suspended its lead reporter Steve Scully after admitting he lied about his Twitter account being hacked when he publicly reached out to former US President Donald Trump’s aide Anthony Scaramucci on the social media platform. "Starting immediately, we have placed Steve on administrative leave," the statement said. "After some distance from this episode, we believe in his ability to continue to contribute to C-SPAN." On October 8, Scully asked Scaramucci in a now-deleted tweet whether he should respond to Trump after Trump criticized him on national television that day. Scully was originally set to server as the moderator in the now-canceled second presidential debate that would have taken place on Thursday night. Scully said in a statement that he sent the tweet to Scaramucci because he was frustrated over criticism he received on social media and from the US president. CSPAN said Scully informed the network and the Commission on Presidential Debates on Wednesday that his hacking claim was false. Trump said in a statement the second presidential debate would have been rigged and that the Commission has not treated his re-election campaign fairly.

Emperor Denies Getting New Clothes: Fashion industry in an uproar The nation’s capital descended into its fourth straight week of protests. The outcry started in the first week of November, when the emperor refuted a claim he had purchased a brand new wardrobe made of the finest Parisian silks. In a follow-up press conference the following morning, his Majesty asserted, “I’m always naked from the socks up. The suit I’m currently wearing is a manufactured illusion by my enemies.” “Why would I need clothes?” he continued. “I mean, look at me, I am naked, I am always naked. Everybody wants to see me naked. It’s a form of national service, really.” A statement from the emperor’s legal counsel indicated they are demanding an inquiry in the entire clothes-making industry to prove they do not actually make clothes. Protestors Protest Emperor’s Lack of New Clothes Claim Pro-emperor protests gathered in large numbers one morning, citing frustration at the quickly escalating the-Emperor-Maybe-Has-Clothes scandal. The groups, who refer to themselves as the Emperor’s Squadron, rode Harley-Davidson motorcycles down the capital’s main streets, hollering at pedestrians and demanding all weavers cease operations until their group can confirm whether the emperor wears clothes. Members of the Emperor’s Squadron are also on record advocating for deporting immigrants back to their countries of origin, and draining a public works project they call “the deep state.” They tote guns and dress up in bright Hawaiian shirts over their squadron-issued Harley-Davidson tees.

A “Public” Journey Through COVID-19: Donald Trump, Twitter, and the Secrecy of U.S. Presidents’ Health Mark Fenster Abstract Donald Trump ignored numerous governance norms in his one term as U.S. President, especially those that prescribe disclosure of official and personal financial information. His brief period of illness from COVID-19, which he broadcast to the world via his Twitter account, revealed the complexity of Trump’s relationship to the concept and norms of transparency that presume information’s necessity for a functional and accountable state. At the same time that Trump offered little in the way of coherent and authoritative information about his health, he also provided an enormous amount of seemingly “inside” and direct accounts of the progress of his illness—indeed, much more than tradition and law appeared to require.
