  • Millcreek Mall Wins Environmental Awareness Award
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 15, 2015 Contacts: Joe Bell Christina O’Neill Director of Corporate Communications Marketing Director The Cafaro Company Millcreek Mall Complex [email protected] [email protected] 330-747-2661 ext. 771 814-864-7945 ext. 105 724-730-4532 (Mobile) Millcreek Mall Wins Environmental Awareness Award Millcreek Mall and its merchants have always cared about their customers but now a local organization has honored the mall for caring about the environment. S.O.N.S. (Save Our Native Species) of Lake Erie Fishing Club presented an Environmental Awareness Award to Millcreek Mall Property Manager Tim Jares on June 13. Jares accepted the award during the mall’s inaugural Environmental Expo. The organization praised the staff and management of Millcreek Mall for their work in keeping litter out of Walnut Creek, which borders the mall property. Fencing and other physical barriers were installed to prevent refuse from reaching the stream. Additionally, the mall has worked with Millcreek Township officials to remediate erosion and sediment problems along the creek. The result has been a cleaner flow of water into Lake Erie, providing a healthier environment for fish species as well as the anglers, boaters and swimmers who enjoy the lake. The S.O.N.S. of Lake Erie Fishing Club is an organization of over 3,000 members. Established in 1981, it is dedicated to the improvement of fishing on Lake Erie and its Pennsylvania tributaries. The organization has supported regulations promoting the growth and health of the Lake Erie fishery. As a member of the Cooperative Nursery Branch of the (MORE) Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, the club established a fish hatchery that annually produces and stocks approximately 1 million Walleye and 2 million Yellow Perch into Presque Isle Bay.

2019 Region 1 Annual Meeting April 4 – 7, 2019 Ambassador Banquet & Conference Center, 7794 Peach Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16509 February 4, 2019 Dear Region 1, We hope you are as excited as we are for the Region 1 Conference in Erie, PA. Our committees have been hard at work to make it an amazing experience for each and every one of you. As Mary mentioned in her email earlier this week, the registration cost for conference is down to $250, a 35% reduction in price from prior years. We hope you will take advantage of these savings to put toward your trip to Erie. Our thanks to Erie Insurance for a generous donation that allowed us to meet our expenses while keeping the registration price low. The hotel price listed on page 3 of the registration form includes all taxes and fees, and we’re really excited to be able to offer you a beautiful location at a reasonable price. We have lots of education and networking planned, including two CE courses, a CLP renewal and a Selling Essentials course. We also have a Community Café full of interesting, laid-back education for those who don’t need CE or CLP and don’t feel like taking a formal course. Our friends from the Red Cross, a local personal trainer and a financial planner – among others – will join us to lead these stimulating 20-minute discussions. As you might know, Mary has challenged the other RVPs to a contest for who can donate the most to the Legacy Foundation. That’s why the Friday jeans days will benefit the Legacy Foundation.
