Press Kit The Lone John Harps draws on diverse influences to explore his surroundings in the manner of the troubadour singers of old, but in a 21st century context. Seeking to capture the spirit of modern times while honouring the values of traditional Folk Music, the songs are inspired and shaped by experiences, encounters and journeys. From his first performances as a busker in Liverpool, to London, Paris, through South America and the US, he has been on a trip around the world for quite some time. The last album, «To the end of the world» has been written during a road-trip through South America, with a tent and a guitar. The songs, written on the banks of rivers, in the middle of forests and the heart of valleys throughout the south-american continent, deal with movement, displacement and the quest for individual freedom. The lead singer- songwriter, Phileas, has then undertaken a journey across America by bicycle, from New York to Los Angles in 80 Days. The new songs recorded in L.A will continue the quest for freedom and self-awareness, and the search for a new form of self- expression through the art of living.
