Extended hours for some special exhibitions. Museum Admission $8 adults; $6 senior citizens (62+) and college students (with ID); $5 ages 5-17; free for children ages four and younger and Joslyn members. Group rates available. Public admitted free Saturdays 10 am-noon. Additional charge for some special exhibitions.

• Joslyn's website logged 548,582 visits by 216,281 unique visitors. The Museum ended the year with 6,400 Facebook fans and 700 followers on Twitter.

• 68 images from Joslyn’s permanent collection were reproduced for publication in textbooks, exhibition catalogues, books, and journals and were also used in televised documentaries, educational videos, websites, and advertisements. Karl Bodmer’s works accounted for about half of these image reproductions, while ’s Trooper Meditating Beside a Grave and Grant Wood’s Stone City, Iowa were each reproduced four times. Images were included in publications for the Van Gogh Museum in , the Gulbenkian Museum in Portugal, the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum, to name a few. Images of Karl Bodmer’s works were included in Montana PBS’s documentary about the Fort Peck Dam, and NET Television’s Great Plains: America’s Lingering Wild documentary about photographer Michael Forsberg. Stone City, Iowa was even used as a massive theater backdrop in the prestigious Glimmerglass Festival's (Cooperstown, NY) production of The Music Man.

Giving Society Events Bodmer Society The Bodmer Society, named after Karl Bodmer, the remarkable artist who accompanied Prince Maximilian’s 1832-34 expedition to North America, was created to foster interest in Western and American Indian art and culture. Membership dues support the exhibitions, programs, and publications of the Margre H. Durham Center for Western Studies at Joslyn Art Museum. September 22 The Missouri River from Maximilian to Today: A Symposium Celebrating the Publication of The North American Journals of Prince Maximilian of Wied Bodmer Society members enjoyed a private reception with the panelists following this symposium sponsored by the Margre H. Durham Center for Western Studies and supported in part by the Bodmer Society. Panelists included: Stephen S. Contemporary Art Society The Contemporary Art Society (CAS) is a dynamic group whose mission is to encourage, support, and stimulate the collection and study of contemporary art at Joslyn. Members share a passion for the exciting art of our time with others who have a similar interest and help foster a new audience among those who are becoming acquainted with these important works. June 7 Meet-and-greet with Karin M. Campbell, Joslyn’s new Phil Willson Curator of Contemporary Art. June 30 CAS members joined artists Chuck Forsman, Karen Kitchel, and Don Stinson for a conversation about their work in the exhibition Contested Terrain: Painting the Modern Landscape and the challenges inherent in painting the contemporary landscape. A luncheon followed. Special thanks to Carol Gendler for making this event possible. October 4 The CAS Annual Dinner featured a private preview of Under Pressure: Contemporary Prints from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation, with special guest Jordan Schnitzer.

10a3 November 29 Art Ecology: Navigating the Contemporary Curatorial Terrain panel discussion with guests Bill Arning, Director, Contemporary Arts Museum Houston; Hesse McGraw, Chief Curator, Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts; and Karin Campbell, Phil Willson Curator of Contemporary Art. The panelists discussed the ins and outs of working as a contemporary art curator, the various contexts in which each of them has worked, and the opportunities and challenges they have encountered in the course of their careers. CAS members enjoyed a cocktail reception with the panelists before the event.

Young Art Patrons Joslyn’s Young Art Patrons (YAP) is a membership group for young professionals in their 20s through early 40s dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and promoting Joslyn Art Museum. YAP members are building a community of young arts enthusiasts whose devotion to Joslyn Art Museum is vital now and in the years to come. April 4 YAP members and their families participated in an art class with Omaha aerosol artist Gerard Pefung in the Dorothy and Stanley Truhlsen Discovery Garden, contributing to Joslyn's hiero-graffiti Egyptian themed mural, while learning how to wield a can of spray paint to tag our mural using stencils, stamps and other street-art techniques. The after party was held at CRAVE Restaurant—Midtown Crossing. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres provided by Whole Foods Market and beverages provided by Quality Brands of Omaha and Corona Extra. December 31 Young professionals danced, dined, and sipped bubbly with good friends and great art at EVE, a New Year’s Gala.
