There are a number of factors which seem to be main ones in reshaping the curriculum, by giving a great emphasis to the way things are perceived from different points of view at the same situation. Teachers, institutions, learners can influence the EFL reshaped curriculum adaptation in the High Schools of Elbasan. This paper highlights the complex process of the implementation of ELT curriculum innovations, in Albania, by taking examles as well as even from other countries undergoing the same process. It also confirms that teachers are not simply implementers of policies that are handed down to them, but they interpret, modify, alter, and implement these policies according to their beliefs and the context where these policies are being implemented. In addition, this paper, illustrates a number of factors which influence how teachers implement and make sense of ELT curriculum innovations. It will be provided significant implications and useful messages for curriculum developers, teachers’ education programs, and educational policy makers. Keywords: EFL curriculum innovation, curriculum implementation, ELT, factors Introduction In the recent years many countries, included Albania, introduced ELT curriculum innovations to their educational systems on the hope to improve the status of English language teaching and learning in these countries. However, during the implementation process, these innovations often fail to achieve the intentions of those who initiated and planned these ELT curriculum innovations. For example, in Greece, Karavas-Doukas, (1995) used one structured classroom observation and semi structured interviews with 14 teachers to examine their implementation of an EFL curriculum innovation which advocates a communicative learner-centered approach. She reported that classrooms were generally teacher-centered and form-focused. Lessons primarily consisted of activities which provided practice on discrete language items while activities that encouraged spontaneous genuine communication were almost non- existent. Most of the pair work activities were carried out between the teacher and the students rather than, as intended by the curriculum between pairs of students. With the territorial law, it means a law made and applied by people not by the goverment. One of these, has been Lek Dukagjini’s Canon, which has been mainly used in Northern Albania, within the area in the same name, Dukagjin. It is also shown in one part of Kosovo too, principally, the zones nearby Albania’s administrative bounder. This paper is going to go through this experience trying to set out the possibly origin of Lek Dukagjini’s Canon, the grounds in where it has been applied, the way in which it has acted, the neccesity to live under Canon and the consequences if there is no deside to live inside it. We, also, are going to face the main figures of the period we are speaking, who acted for Canon or were against its implementation and existence. We are going to have in consideration their opinions and judgements looking for the power it has, even nowadays, in Albania.     Learning to read and spell in Albanian, English and Welsh: the effect of orthographic transparency Lorenc Hoxhallari This thesis is submitted in total fulfilment of the requirements of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy School of Psychology, University of Wales, Bangor, UK. May, 2006 iii Abstract Effects of orthographic transparency on literacy acquisition were examined by comparing data from children learning to read in Albanian, Welsh, and English. The Welsh and especially Albanian orthographies are extremely transparent, whereas the English orthography is notorious for its lack of transparency. In the pilot study, twenty Year I Albanian children were given a reading test consisting of a 100-word stratified sample of decreasing written frequency. These children were able to read accurately 80% of the words; reading latency was a direct effect of word length (R2 =. 89); and errors tended to be mispronunciations rather than real word replacements, with hardly any null responses. These results were compared with Ellis and Hooper (2001), where the same design was used with English and Welsh children of the same age, but with one more year of formal reading instruction. The Albanian children read more words than the English and Welsh children, but they had longer reading latencies. Like the Welsh children, but unlike the English children, the Albanian children made more nonword errors. These results suggest that children acquire reading faster the more transparent the orthography, and that shallow orthographies promote an initial reliance on a phonological recoding strategy. The main study examined reading, spelling, phonological and orthographic skills of 6-, 8- and 10-year old Albanian, English and Welsh children.

With respect to Mihal Grameno, Skendi’s outdated work (1967: 210–214) relies on problematic sources that inevitably come to certain conclusions about his motivations over the summer of 1908. One of the more question- able sources is the purported memoirs of Mihal Grameno (1959), published many years after his death by the fiercely revisionist regime of the Albanian dictator Enver Hoxha. 3. Many post- Ottoman states faced considerable difficulties with imposing new ethnonational criteria to their citizenship regime, largely because large pockets of still polyglot and heterogeneous communities violently resisted state efforts to impose a singular ethnonational “identity” on them. Of the more interesting cases of former Ottoman subjects “navigating” national- ity, the Republic of Turkey (Gingeras 2009), Bulgaria (Dragostinova 2009), and Greece (Hirschon 1989) stand out. For a theoretical explanation of this decidedly “modern” practice, see Brubaker (1996). 4. Mignolo (2000) suggests how to effectively realize this reorientation of our focus. 5. Unlike most academics, writers such as Leo Tolstoy treat history as a multi- leveled complex of human emotions, possibilities, and structures. As dem- onstrated by Morson’s insightful reading of Tolstoy’s strategies to deal with time and perspective in “historical” events (1996: 155–162, 271–272), the creative writer has often proven that it is possible to master the complexities of representing the passage of time and thus shine an uncomplimentary light on the narrative methods used by many historians and social scientists.

He was one of the first students in the Papnuer Seminar in Shkoder which began on the 2nd of August 1859 and after a short while, in 1861 he was sent to Rome at the Urban Propoganda College. Upon completion of his theological studies in 1871 he returned to Albania where he became a local priest in Korthpule (one of the poorest church in Mirdita). He then went on to become Chaplain for Archbishop Gasper Krasniqi and Abbot for She Lleshari in Orosh. In 1876-1877 he became a priest in Kalivare where he organized and influenced events during these years. Keywords: Prend Doci, Albanian nationalism Prend Doci on his nationalistic act Speaking to the "Hylli i Drites" magazine (year XVIII, 1942, pg. 3-4), Father Pashke Bardhi O.F.M, gives a detailed talk on Prend Doci's religious acts, his literary and cultural work and political doings. Prend Doci always believed that Mirdita could be an independent entity during a tumorous time in Albania. He believed that the moment that Albania was free, the citizens would recognize that they could choose their own political powers. At the same time Prenk Bib Doda (Bib Doda's son) the elected chief in Mirdita, started to act so that he could form a Catholic Unity in Mirdita.

    EUROPEAN ACADEMIC RESEARCH Vol. VII, Issue 8/ November 2019 Impact Factor: 3.4546 (UIF) ISSN 2286-4822 DRJI Value: 5.9 (B+) www.euacademic.org Children’s press in Albanian language in SR Macedonia (1974-1991) KOSOVAR BASHA Institute of History “Ali Hadri” – Pristina, Kosovo INTRODUCTION After World War II, the new Yugoslav state, based on socialist social order, was constituted as a federal community in which the peoples and nationalities within its borders enjoyed constitutionally guaranteed equality.1 This equality was achieved through federal units, republics, and autonomous provinces, where the Yugoslav peoples governed socio-political and cultural developments. However, it should be emphasized that under a strictly administrative- centralized state, all decisions, solutions and directions in all aspects of administration were given by the central government and were in line with state policies. Thus, among other things, within the framework of the policy of national equality was the inducting education in the mother tongue language for all Yugoslav nationalities as a part of compulsory primary education, i.e. in the overall educational policy.
