THE TUSCANY SUN: OFFICIAL VOICE OF THE TUSCANY COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION JULY 2017 5 Our Schools Eric Harvie School Playground Update The Eric Harvie School is close to funding the full playground design; the layout that the children designed for themselves. We are still in the process of determining whether we qualify for the new Alberta Playground Grant, but regardless of the outcome, our school will have a playground in September 2017; playground equipment will be ordered in late June 2017. Please visit our blog and Facebook page for the most recent updates.

In an effort to reduce costs, we continue to look for the following donations: • Concrete • A 4-foot chain link fence • Dump trucks to haul soil away or deliver gravel to the site

If you are able to assist, or would like more information, please email [email protected].

The children of this community continue to amaze us. Nick R. and Sam R. held a second bottle drive and added an additional $210.05 donation to the playground. Walter S. hosted a toonie birthday and raised $20. Rebecca G. and Olivia K. raised $24 at their lemonade stand. Danika C. and Alex C. raised $110 dollars at their garage sale. Thank you to all of them.

The sale of Action Packs raised over $1,500. Wine Survivor was also a great success, and the First Glazed 8 Run on June 11 raised nearly $2,000. Thank you to all the runners, volunteers, and organizers, as well as Dennon McSwain, of Tim West Group, our very own Tuscany Tim Hortons, for making and donating the donuts.

We also extend a heartfelt thank you to the Boden Family, Robin Biagioni, Emir Delic, and Chester Mjolsness for their generous donations.

Another bottle drive will be held at Eric Harvie School on June 22. Please email [email protected] to arrange for home collection. The school no longer has an account at Spyhill Bottle Depot, but volunteers will continue to collect bottles throughout the summer.

Please contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions, ideas or offers of support. Check out our blog at ehschoolcouncil.blogspot.com, or like us on Facebook (Eric Harvie School Council). We can also be reached at [email protected] for bottle donations. Santana Cunnington EHSES Director
