Sub :- To issue the Environmental clearance Certificate for minor mineral quarry lease of "Ordinary Sand" mining project as per the EIA Notification of 14-Sep.-2006. Sir, I, the applicant Satishbhai Naginbhai Modi has been applied for a lease of minor mineral “Ordinary Sand” to the Collector, Chhota Udaipur (Gujarat) on Govt., Sr. No. 100 of Vill : Patana, Ta : Bodeli, Dist. According to the direction of Honourable Supreme Court of India, MoEF’s OM dt. 18th May 2012 and latest amendment of the EIA Notification on 9th September 2013, environmental clearance is required to be obtained for our mining project. You are well aware that the last term of the S.E.A.C. and S.E.I.A.A. for Gujarat State is already expired in July, 2013 and presently there is no S.E.A.C. and S.E.I.A.A. for Gujarat State. Kindly note that in absence of S.E.A.C. and S.E.I.A.A. for the Gujarat State, previous secretariat of S.E.A.C. 3 and S.E.I.A.A. located at Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) has stopped accepting all kind of environmental clearance applications. Para 4 (iii) of the EIA Notification, 2006, states that “In the absence of a duly constituted SEIAA or SEAC, a Category ‘B’ project shall be considered at the Central Level as a Category ‘B’ project”. In view of this provision, though our project falls under B category project, we are required to submit our application at the central level Expert Appraisal Committee for consideration. It may be noted that the District Collectorate is neither granting new lease nor renewing the existing lease for want of environmental clearance. Due to this, we are unable to continue mining operations and losing our only source of income and livelihood. In consideration of above, we humbly request you to accept our application to accord environmental clearance at the earliest. Annexures :- (A) Form No. 1. (B) Pre-feasibility Report. • A Spatio-Temporal Mapping of Malaria Risk Zones Integrating Annual Parasite Index and Geographic Information System in Vadodara District, Gujarat (India)
National Journal of Physiology, Pharmacy and Pharmacology RESEARCH ARTICLE A Spatio-temporal mapping of malaria risk zones integrating Annual Parasite Index and Geographic Information System in Vadodara District, Gujarat (India) Bindu Bhatt, Janak P Joshi Department of Geography, Faculty of Science, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat, India Correspondence to: Bindu Bhatt, E-mail: [email protected] Received: December 11, 2018; Accepted: January 09, 2019 ABSTRACT Background: Risk maps have proven to be important tools for public health decision-making and priority setting for vector-borne diseases because they assist with the targeting of prevention and control efforts. The spatial information obtained from mapping malaria hazard and risk will provide a guideline for control programs and preparing health facilities based on the requirement of each area. Geographic information system (GIS) has been continuously used for the analysis of spatial health-related data. It can be a useful tool for analyzing the spread of diseases. Aim and Objective: This study attempts to identify malaria risk zones at macrolevel based on annual parasite index (API). Materials and Methods: Spatiotemporal API data (2006–2011) are integrated into GIS and weighted overlay analysis is performed to delineate risk zones in Vadodara district. Results: On the basis of API as recorded during 2006–2011 from the villages of the Vadodara district, it was figured out that 50% region of Chhota Udaipur Taluka has recorded continuously very high incidence of malaria and followed by part of Sankheda and then Dabhoi Taluka. Conclusion: API has declined, but still a considerable region is more than above the desirable limit of the API and several vulnerable regions are there with low API and there is the prospect of elimination of this disease in this region.

During this period, the TISS developed baseline data on social, demographic, economic, cultural and environmental aspects of individuals, families and communities in 33 villages in Akkalkuwa and Akrani tehsils of Dhule (now Nandurbar) district, and tracked changes in the habitat and life conditions of people shifted from Manibeli, Dhankhedi, and Chimalkhedi villages to Parveta (one of the earliest resettlement sites in Gujarat). While TISS moved out of its monitoring and evaluation role in 1994, it continued to track the progress made on various aspects of the SSP. J. Shrimali2 1,2Faculty 1,2Department of Civil Engineering 1,2Faculty of Tech. & Engg., The M. S. University of Baroda, Vadodara, India Abstract— Vadodara is one of the highest industrialized in the alluvial region between two major perennial rivers districts in Gujarat state of India. Varieties of industries like, named Mahi and Narmada of the state. Reliance Petrochemicals & Oil Refinery, GSFC, Nandesari GIDC and other industrial estates etc are located in and around Vadodara City. Rapid industrialization and urbanization have adversely affected water and air of these areas over last few decades. Mahi and Narmada are the main perennial rivers flowing through the study area while Vishwamitry, Dhadhar and Mini are other important rivers. The present research has been done for the analysis of physical and chemical parameters of ground water for industrial area in western region of Vadodara District. The analysis is carried out for major physical and chemical parameters of pollutants in terms of pH, TDS, Ca+, Mg+, Cl- , NO2-N, NO3-N and NH3-N by using data of open wells, tube wells and piezometers of agencies like Gujarat Water Resources Development Corporation (GWRDC) and Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB). Study of exploratory boreholes reveals the nature of formation of water quality at various depths.
