MEDIA PACK JAZZ FM Jazz FM plays the world’s greatest jazz, soul and blues from the world’s greatest artists. Since its launch 30 years ago in 1990, Jazz FM has pioneered a new approach to broadcasting. The music output is truly unique; a colourful mixture of well-known pieces by legends including Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis and Nina Simone, alongside emerging artists such as Judi Jackson, Kamasi Washington and Ezra Collective. Every night of the week there’s the chilled relaxing sounds of Dinner Jazz, followed by a magical collection of specialist programmes to inspire and intrigue listeners. Our weekends provide landmark moments of musical discovery with some of the biggest names in jazz-music broadcasting. Jazz FM is also at the centre of the jazz community, regularly breaking new talent through innovative initiatives such as the Jazz FM Awards, embracing new talent and supporting breakthrough artists whilst also lending support to big names such as Jamie Cullum and Gregory Porter. We are Jazz FM – Listen In Colour. JAZZ FM AUDIENCE Jazz FM’s core audience is aged 35-64, 61% male and 39% female. We attract an upscale, predominantly ABC1 audience who enjoy the quality things in life with a high disposable income. They are more likely to read The FT, The Times or The I over a traditional tabloid. They have families, cars and like to travel but listening to Jazz FM is a constant in their lives. Our audience is passionate about music and it’s the background to everything they do and trust the brand. Jazz music is in the middle of a resurgence with exposure to a growing audience happening in everyday places – you’ll see jazz superstars headlining mainstream big-budget entertainment TV shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, X Factor and Graham Norton. LISTEN IN COLOUR WEEKENDS Each weekend on Jazz FM is one of amazing musical discovery. Starting on Friday night, we devote over 30 hours to the jazz-music journey. From pure blues to the greatest cutting-edge contemporary jazz, our curators are the best in the world. Jeff Young brings his years in the music business to his show every Sunday, while Chris Philips, David Freeman, Helen Mayhew, Jez Nelson and Sarah Ward – the famous five from the original Jazz FM launch in 1990 – are integral to our music selections. LIVE EVENTS Jazz FM co-founded the Love Supreme Jazz Festival in Sussex back in 2013, and each year we support it on-air and online with continuous live broadcasts, featuring interviews and performances from the multiple stages across the festival site.
