GOLDEN GOPHERS POST TOP 25 FINISH IN FINAL SEARS CUP DIRECTORS STANDINGS The University of Minnesota finished tied for 21st in the sixth annual Sears Directors Cup rankings released June 23 by NACDA (National Association of College Directors of Athletics). The competition recognizes the finest all-around ath letic programs (men's and women's combined) in the nation. This multi-sport national championship represents the partnership between NACDA and Sears. The Sears Directors Cup is part of the Sears Collegiate Champions program, which recognizes athletic participation and rewards performance at all levels of involvement. The Director's Cup gives men's and women's sports equal weight. The Golden Gophers, who have finished in the top 25 in each of the last four years and five of the six years of the competition, placed fourth among Big Ten schools in the standings.
