1997 film “Bent”→ Thesis + Meaning of Bubbles (Jessica) Thesis Statement

Noam and his friends who live in Tel Aviv represents the bubble of fantasy about anti-war and peace, but the “invasion” of Ashraf forces Noam to face the conflicts in real life among races, sexual orientation, values and culture. The Meaning of “the Bubble”

“The Bubble” is actually a local nickname of Tel Aviv, which is the most cosmopolitan city in Israel, referencing the separation from the conflicts that roil the rest of the country.

The bubble stands for a fantasy for peace to the idealistic and naive youngsters in Tel Aviv which is advocating for peace and anti-war without considering the situation of different races.

The bubble in the film symbolizes the relationship between Ashraf and Noam, which is beautiful but fragile. Their love is built on the different races with long-term conflicts for different religion, social status as well as different sense of value. Language & Music as Bubble (Sofia) Language Barrier

Restate thesis statement

Noam and his friends who live in Tel Aviv represents the bubble of fantasy about anti- war and peace, but the “invasion” of Ashraf forces Noam to face the reality of the conflicts among races, sexual orientation, values and culture.

Current situation

Tension and hostilities have increased markedly between Israeli and Palestinian societies.

In 2015, Israel enforces severe and discriminatory restriction on Palestinians’ human rights.

Israeli authorities also arbitrarily detained peaceful Palestinian demonstrators, including children.

Explosive Love Explosive Love The Ending Interesting Questions 1. Does Jihad plans to drop the bomb in Yali’s Cafe on purpose? 2. Is Ashraf part of the terrorism from the beginning? why does he want to replace Jihad to drop the second bomb? 3. Is Rana’s death really an accident? Or is it a self-directed show planned by her extremist husband Jihad in order to have an excuse for him to summon more Palestinians to fight against Israel? 4. Should Noam be blamed for the death of the baby at first? Works Cited
