    Press Kit 2018 // introduction Launched in 2016 by Renault Sport Racing and Renault Sport Formula One Team, the Renault Sport Academy is tasked with discovering and nurturing young driver talent through the racing ranks, where, ultimately, Renault Sport Formula One Team aims to find drivers able to deliver the team world championship titles. Drivers are selected on ability and potential, with the Academy able to draw upon Renault Sport Racing’s vast experience in motorsport as well as its global markets to find such talent. Mia Sharizman manages the programme and has a range of experience in motorsport including at Formula 1, Formula 2 and GP3 level. For 2018, the Academy has retained four drivers from its 2017 intake. Jack Aitken, a member since its inception in 2016, signs for a third year, as does Sun Yue Yang. Max Fewtrell and Christian Lundgaard both impressed in their first seasons with the Academy and both remain for a second year. The Academy is delighted to welcome three new drivers to the programme. As part of his prize for winning the highly-competitive Formula Renault Eurocup, Sacha Fenestraz has agreed to accept a place with the Academy. Arthur Rougier, winner of the 2017 French Formula 4 Championship, is on-board for 2018, alongside Victor Martins, runner-up to Arthur in his rookie season of single-seater racing. Four members will go wheel to wheel in the Formula Renault Eurocup in 2018 with Max, Christian, Arthur and Victor all set to contest the exciting series that races on nine Grand Prix circuits, including the streets of Monaco.

    PRESS RELEASE Magneti Marelli Motorsport: achievements of 2012 In 2012, Magneti Marelli supplied its technologies to several winning teams, among which the world champions of the Formula 1, WRC and MotoGP championships. In 2012, Magneti Marelli was again alongside the main motorsport teams as they came to victory in the most important world competitions. Specifically, this year Magneti Marelli provided support to the teams in the achievement of the following victories: drivers’ and constructors’ titles in Formula 1, drivers’ and constructors’ titles in the WRC (World Rally Championship), rider’s title in the MotoGP, drivers’ and constructors’ titles in the IRC (Intercontinental Rally Challenge). Thanks to the partnership with different teams, Magneti Marelli was at the top of the podium even in the Superbike World Championship, in the AMA SBK (American Superbike Championship), in the GP2 and GP3 series, in the FIA GT, DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters), WTCC (World Touring Car Championship) and GT WEC (World Endurance Championship), as well as in the Indycar and Le Mans Series. The other technologies include, specifically for Formula 1, a two-way WI-FI data transmission system from vehicle to infrastructure (e.g.: race car-pits), and injectors and pumps for GDI engines with operating pressures up to 500 bar.

    SCUDERIA TORO ROSSO 2015 …this is how we do it! The Team Scuderia Toro Rosso has been competing in the Formula 1 World Championship since 2006. The team was created with a view to finding two extra cockpits for the stars of the future coming through the ranks of the Red Bull Junior Driver Programme. As we reach the significant milestone of our tenth year in the Championship, the team’s driver line-up is the perfect synthesis of that goal, as we go into battle with two rookies, Carlos Sainz and Max Verstappen, who have a combined age of just 37! When the team was first established it operated partly as a satellite to Red Bull Racing, running a car designed mainly by Red Bull Technology. However, for the past five years, Scuderia Toro Rosso has run completely independently, doing all the car design and manufacturing work in-house in Faenza. This necessitated a major expansion programme for the factory, which is still on-going and the Italian side of the operation is supported by the team’s wind tunnel facility in Bicester, England. On the engine front, we will tackle our second year powered by Renault. Team Principal Franz Tost has been at the helm since 2005, while the technical side is managed by Technical Director James Key. Currently the team has one win and one pole position to its name, both courtesy of Sebastian Vettel, who produced the fairytale result at the team’s home race, the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, back in 2008. Scuderia Toro Rosso can also be proud of having Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat in its ranks, seeing them progress as drivers and be selected to race for Red Bull Racing.

    Patrick Long’s & Sebastien Bourdais’ Comments About the 8th Annual Kart 4 Kids Pro-Am Kart Race It’s only fitting that this year’s 8th annual Kart 4 Kids charity karting event takes place just a few steps from the entrance of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St Pete. It’s also just a stone’s throw from Dan Wheldon Way. Each year the event grows, the funds raised increase, and the awareness around a special hospital and a group of kids accelerate. Thank you to our hosts, all of the sponsors, partners, donors, pro drivers, and especially the large committee of great volunteers who make the production of this event happen. This event started off as a humble gathering, with the goal of raising a few dollars in the name of Dan Wheldon for the Hospital. Dan was a St. Pete resident, and someone who had a lot of time for All Children’s. We continue to race in his memory and smile as status and organization of this gathering continues to reach new boundaries! A few milestones were reached in 2018 for Kart for Kids. We managed to donate 130k$ to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, bring the event downtown and reinforce the involvement of the community and sponsors thanks to our amazing group of volunteers. The response from the racing community was no less impressive, with many drivers from different series donating their apparel and time. 2019 will be no less impressive and I want to thank each and every individual for their continued support.

    ART GRAND PRIX announces its “Official Teams” ART Grand Prix is proud to announce its "Official Teams" set to line-up alongside the Factory Team in the major events of the international karting calendar starting with the upcoming Winter Cup. They will also represent the ART brand in their respective country's main championships. ART Grand Prix planned to be present in some of the most traditional kart racing environments since the very beginning, thus deciding to provide support to some highly-qualified and professional outfits. >> ART Grand Prix (France) The mother company of ART Grand Prix, currently committed to the GP2 and GP3 Series, has developed a karting department under supervision of Guillaume Capietto, the current Technical Director of the GP2 and GP3 operations. He will be joined by a younger engineer, fully-dedicated to kart racing, Max Fortier. Tony Lavanant as been appointed as Team Manager, and thanks to his recent experience in top-level go-kart racing, he will be able to provide an extremely valuable advice to the young fresh racers of the team. ART Grand Prix (France) is also the official distribution on French soil for the karting products of ART Grand Prix. The team will line-up with Lucas Marchy (KF3) and Charles Gregory Machado (KF3) in the Winter Cup, the WSK Euro Series and the European and World CIK-FIA races, in addition to the French-based GPO Series.
