NOTIFICATIONS BY GOVERNMENT TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 4 of the said Act, the Governor of ACQUISITION OF LANDS Tamil Nadu hereby authorises the Special Tahsildar (Land Acquisition), New Broad Gauge Railway Line Project, [G.O. Ms. No. 299, Transport (I.1), 22nd October 2010]. Nagapattinam and his staff and workmen to exercise the powers conferred by said sub-section and under clause (c) of No. II(2)/TRA/657(a)/2010. Section 3 of the said Act, the Governor of Tamil Nadu, hereby appoints the Special Tahsildar (Land Acquisition), Nagapattinam Whereas in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) New Broad Gauge Railway Line Project to perform the functions of Article 258 of the Constitution of India, the President of India of the Collector under the said Act. has, in the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Community Development and Co-operation (Department of Agriculture), Under sub-section (4) of Section 17 of the said Act, the Notification No. 4(1)/65, General II, dated 23rd April 1966, Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby directs that in view of the entrusted to the Government of Tamil Nadu with their consent, urgency of the case, the provisions of Section 5-A of the the functions of the Central Government under the Land said Act shall not apply to this case.     CHAPTER –IV Results The present investigation was carried out to evaluate the quality and health of soil samples collected from individual fields of every village of Nagapattinam district were analyzed for various physico-chemical properties, Available Macronutrients, Available nutrients on Organic manure Inorganic fertilizer fields and health of paddy plant obtained from Organic and Inorganic fields. The analytical results thus obtained are presented in this chapter. 4.0. Textural Analysis of the Soil Series of Nagapattinam District. The physical characteristics of Nagapattinam soil were analysed (Table. 5) soil series wise before analysing chemical properties. Some of the physical properties are given below. 4.0.1. Alathur (Alt) Physiography: Tamilnadu east coast plain laterite depression of gently sloping land. Taxonomy: Fine loamy, calcareous, isohyperthermic, very deep vertic haplustalfs Typifying Pedan: Alathur-sandy clay loam and cultivated fallow Description: These are greyish brown, fine loamy, very deep, strongly calcareous, moderately alkaline. 4.0.2. Adhanur (Adn) Physiography: Tamilnadu east coast plain - riverine flat land form. Taxonomy: Fine loamy, mixed, isohyperthermic, deep vertic ustropepts.. Typifying Pedan: Adhanur - sandyclay loam - cultivated. 72 Brief Description: Adhanur series comprises of dark grey brown to dark yellowish brown, loamy textured soils derived from Cauvery alluvium. The soils are very deep, non-calcareous, having sand layer within 100 cm. 4.0.3. Kohur (Khr) Physiography: Tamilnadu east coast plain-riverine land form. Taxonomy: Fine, montmorillonitic, isohyperthermic, very deep typic haplusterts. Typifying Pedan: Kohur-silty loam-cultivated. Brief Description: The Kohur soil series consists of very dark grey brown, very deep, slightly saline, alluvial soils. 4.0.4. Kalathur (Klt) Physiography: Tamilnadu east coast plain - riverine land form (away from the river course) of deltaic plain.

Moreover healthy soils are not only more productive from an agricultural point of view, but they also provide other key ecosystem services. Maintaining a healthy level of SOC is essential to maintain or improve soil health and is explicitly mentioned in Global environmental facility strategy documents. Two thousand five hundred ninety surface soil samples from the entire 232257 ha. area which covers fifteen soil series of Nagapattinam district, Tamilnadu, India were analyzed to know the strength and mapping of soil organic pool. The standard procedure was used for the analysis. This study showed that Kutthalam taluk soils ranged between 0.20 and 0.26% with an average value of 0.23%, Mayiladuthurai taluk soil: min 0.14% max 0.49% with the mean value of 0.29%, Kilvelur taluk soils: min 0.29% max 0.57% mean value of 0.39%, Vedaranyam taluk: ranged between 0.21 and 0.37% with an average value of 0.28%, Nagapattinam taluk: ranged from 0.16% to 0.49% mean- 0.29%. Sirkali taluk soils: from 0.23% to 0.67% mean value - 0.43%, Tharangampadi Taluk OC level was ranged between 0.30% and 4.56% with the mean value of 1.51% and Thirukkuvalai taluk was varied from 0.19% to 0.65% with the mean value of 0.36%.

    International Journal for Research in Engineering Application & Management (IJREAM) ISSN : 2454-9150 Vol-04, Issue-12, Mar 2019 A Study on Service Quality Perception and Policyholders’ Satisfaction in LIC of India in Nagapattinam District Dr. R. Thennarasan Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, Swami Dayananda College of Arts and Science, Manajakkudi, India. Abstract: The aim of the study is to examined the level of policyholders’ satisfaction towards assurance factors of service quality perception and also the impact of perceived quality on policyholders’ satisfaction was measured. A study adapted a non-probability sampling method of Quota sampling was used to select the sample respondent in the eight taluk of Nagapattinam District. 800 respondents were chosen among the population of policyholders in Nagapattinam District. The result found that 21.7 per cent of the highest variability in Satisfaction over the LIC among the respondent of Sirkali taluk, while, the R-Squared statistic indicates that the model as fitted explains 4.8% of the lowest variability in Satisfaction over the LIC among the respondent of Tharangambadi taluk. By overall, the model as fitted at 1.6% of the variability in the overall policyholders’ satisfaction over the LIC and the correspondent adjusted. It was found that the P-value in the ANOVA table is greater or equal to 0.05, there is not a statistically significant relationship between the variables at the 95.0% or higher confidence level in the sample area of Nagapattinam, Mayiladurthurai, Vedaranyam, Kuthalam, Thirukkuvalai and Trarangambadi taluk. However, the P-value in the ANOVA table is lesser or equal to 0.05, there is a statistically significant relationship between the variables at the 95.0% or higher confidence level in the sample area of Sirkali, Kilvelur and by overall.

Corresponding Author; A.Vincentraj Abstract:Water used for irrigation should be essentially in good quality to grow good quantity crops, for the maintenance of soil productivity and for the protection of the environment. Physical and mechanical properties of soil, soil structure and permeability are very sensitive to the type of exchangeable ions present in irrigation water. Irrigation water quality is determined by physical and chemical methods of analysis. The most important factors determining the suitability of water used in agriculture are pH, EC ,Salinity hazard, Sodium hazard, Sodium Adsorption Ratio (SAR), Carbonate, Bicarbonates in relation with Ca, Mg content and other cations and anions.In this point of view, present study is designed to monitor all the parameters by measuring the quality of irrigation bore well water in major rice growing area of Nagappattinam District. Nagappattinum district consists of eight taluks and five hundred and eighteen revenue villages.
