PRESENTATION Proimágenes Colombia and the Bogota Chamber of Commerce welcome the eighth edition of the Bogota Audiovisual Market (bam). This year’s Market will feature the presence of our guest of honor France, as the culmination of its “Crossed Seasons” initiative, part of the Year of Colombia and France – 2017. bam will officially open with the Colombian premiere of the film Zombillenium (Arthur de Pins and Alexis Ducord). For the next five days, some 1,200 Colombian and international attendees will share experiences with more than 20 French guests, as well as around 60 international experts from various branches of the audiovisual industry. Over the past eight years, we have seen a dramatic rise in the number of expected deals and completed deals coming out of the Market, as bam has become the official showcase for Colombia’s film and television projects in development, completed short and feature films, web series, television series, and all kinds of stories that are waiting to be told. This growth is reflected in an increased participation in the many bam programs. This year, we have selected 50 talented young people (Bammers), 46 projects seeking co-production partners, 12 scripts that were pre-selected or awarded by the fdc and are seeking partners, 13 feature films that have been completed or are now in post-production, 102 titles available at the online video library, and 12 film festivals participating in the Sixth Workshop organized by the Film Department of the Ministry of Culture. And at our 18 bam Talks we’ll bring you the latest trends, best practices, and audience management practices for film and television content. In order to offer attendees ever more opportunities to network, establish partnerships, and make deals with other industry stakeholders, this edition will launch several new events that will be held at the Gimnasio Moderno school. The bam Forum will host our now traditional networking brunches (bam Brunch) plus a new program of academic and promotional talks. The Lounge, sponsored by the National Television Authority, will be dedicated to television. And the Big Top will double its capac- ity this year, for a total of more than 30 exhibitors. We are especially grateful to the National Council of Arts and Culture in Film (cnacc), for its crucial commitment to bam all these years. We have also received important support from our official partners—antv, Caracol, Cine Colombia, and bmw—as well as our long-time supporters—the Embassy of France in Colombia, sena, idartes, Invest in Bogota, the Ministry of Cul- ture, the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, procolombia, the Universidad Central, the Universidad Javeriana, and the Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano; and the many others who have taken part in this initiative to strengthen the Colombian film and media industry. PRESENTACIÓN Proimágenes Colombia y la Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá dan la bienvenida a la octava versión del Bogotá Audiovisual Market (bam), evento con el que culminará la presencia de Francia –nuestro invitado de honor– en Colombia en el marco del programa de cooperación “Temporadas cruzadas” del año Colombia-Francia 2017. Nuestro mercado se abrirá oficialmente con el estreno nacional de la película Zombillenium (Arthur de Pins y Alexis Ducord) y durante 5 días cerca de 1.200 acreditados nacionales e internacionales compartirán experiencias. Contaremos con la participación de más de 20 invitados franceses, a los que se sumarán alrededor de 60 expertos internacionales de los diversos campos de la industria audiovisual. En el transcurso de estos 8 años, el bam se ha fortalecido en cuanto a expectativas y negociación efectiva, y se ha afianzado como la vitrina oficial de la oferta colombiana de proyectos audiovisuales en desarrollo, cortos y largo metrajes terminados, series web, series de televisión y propuestas de historias por contar.     PART I • Omora Park Long-Term Ornithological Research Program THE OMORA PARK LONG-TERM ORNITHOLOGICAL RESEARCH PROGRAM: 1 STUDY SITES AND METHODS RICARDO ROZZI, JAIME E. JIMÉNEZ, FRANCISCA MASSARDO, JUAN CARLOS TORRES-MURA, AND RAJAN RIJAL In January 2000, we initiated a Long-term Ornithological Research Program at Omora Ethnobotanical Park in the world's southernmost forests: the sub-Antarctic forests of the Cape Horn Biosphere Reserve. In this chapter, we first present some key climatic, geographical, and ecological attributes of the Magellanic sub-Antarctic ecoregion compared to subpolar regions of the Northern Hemisphere. We then describe the study sites at Omora Park and other locations on Navarino Island and in the Cape Horn Biosphere Reserve. Finally, we describe the methods, including censuses, and present data for each of the bird species caught in mist nets during the first eleven years (January 2000 to December 2010) of the Omora Park Long-Term Ornithological Research Program. THE MAGELLANIC SUB-ANTARCTIC ECOREGION The contrast between the southwestern end of South America and the subpolar zone of the Northern Hemisphere allows us to more clearly distinguish and appreciate the peculiarities of an ecoregion that until recently remained invisible to the world of science and also for the political administration of Chile. So much so, that this austral region lacked a proper name, and it was generally subsumed under the generic name of Patagonia. For this reason, to distinguish it from Patagonia and from sub-Arctic regions, in the early 2000s we coined the name “Magellanic sub-Antarctic ecoregion” (Rozzi 2002). The Magellanic sub-Antarctic ecoregion extends along the southwestern margin of South America between the Gulf of Penas (47ºS) and Horn Island (56ºS) (Figure 1).

The Trip: Pick-up at the hotel Transfer from Cuenca to Cajas National Park, directly to the Llaviuco zone in the lower part at 3100 meters above sea level. The path is level and easy to navigate through the woods, taking between 45 minutes and an hour. Then we continue to the higher region of the Park called Tres Cruces (Three Crosses) at approximately 4160 meters above sea level. There we will have a panoramic view of the Park with time for taking photographs and listening to information from the guide.

    The Films of Ciro Guerra and the Making of Cosmopolitan Spaces in Colombian Cinema Maria Luna and Philippe Meers Abstract: This article proposes to use the concept of “cosmopolitan cinematic margins” to analyse the paradoxical meeting of the cosmopolitan meaning and discourses of Ciro Guerra’s Colombian films and the spatial restrictions and immobility of the rural and remote places in which they are set. Such areas as seen on screen are usually interpreted by urban audiences as exotic locations, independently of their actual distance from cities. The article explores how films that, at first sight, show images of marginal and remote places like the Colombian Amazonian Jungle, when inserted into a global context—such as the hierarchical system of international film festivals—become symbols of cosmopolitan cinematic margins, and represent a country in the global spaces that legitimise the importance of that country’s film production. The cosmopolitan cinematic margins in the films of Guerra are then strategically situated in environments of global mobility and international prestige. Introduction The three feature films directed thus far by Colombian filmmaker Ciro Guerra— Wandering Shadows (La sombra del caminante, 2004), The Wind Journeys (Los viajes del viento, 2009) and Embrace of the Serpent (El abrazo de la serpiente, 2015)— were all produced by the independent production house Ciudad Lunar. They show the dynamics and tensions in the making of a cosmopolitan cinematic space within a peripheral cinema or “small cinema”, expressions that will be used in this article to remark the particular position of the cinemas of the “remaining countries” beyond the dominant production of Argentina, Mexico and Brazil—also known as “the big three” (Falicov and Middents 115).

Email: [email protected] (JB). *Corresponding author The stump-tailed porcupine (Coendou rufescens) is a medium-sized species that inhabits subtropical, temperate and High-Andean forests of the northern Andes, at 800 to 3,650 m asl. This species is characterized by a short non-prehensile tail and a distinctive reddish color. Here, we report new localities for Coendou rufescens in Ecuador based on direct field sightings and the revision of mammal collections. In addition, we conducted a review of literature records of C. rufescens throughout its distribution range. A total of 52 georeferenced records were mod- eled for the potential distribution at the regional level (Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru) based on 19 bioclimatic variables.

El Consejo Rector de la fundación creada por el nobel colombiano Gabriel García Márquez "reconoce en la trayectoria de Jesús Abad Colorado valores como la ética, el respeto por los derechos humanos, la integridad y el compromiso con los ideales de servicio público del periodismo", señala el acta del galardón. La organización considera que Colorado, fotógrafo independiente nacido en Medellín en 1967, "es uno de los grandes cronistas visuales de la región, cuya carrera ha contribuido a conocer y entender mejor el pasado, presente y el diseño del futuro de Colombia". Colorado es comunicador social de la Universidad de Antioquia, empezó como reportero gráfico del diario El Colombiano de Medellín, Colombia, donde trabajó de 1992 al 2001. Es el fotógrafo colombiano que más ha documentado el conflicto armado en Colombia.
