I have studied at the Warrior Sports College for a total of three years and I am now into my fourth. I took the vocational route in school and attended the academy one day per week over two years and completed a BTEC Level 2 in Sport. As this is a nationally recognised qualification, last year it helped me progress onto the Level 2 Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure. I am now qualified at level 2 as a Gym Instructor, Circuit Trainer and Sports Coach, all qualifications that will help me get a job in the future. After completing this course I applied and was accepted for a place with Warriors Education for the Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Sports Performance & Excellence. We started in September 13 and I am now close to completing my fourth Unit, the course is excellent and I know for what I want to achieve in the future, this course will help along to the path to a successful career in the fitness industry. At the Sports College, it is not just class work, if you enjoy rugby then you have the opportunity to join play for the successful Warriors Rugby League Performance Squad against other colleges in the league and cup, I am proud to say that I am part of this squad now. We each have our own responsibilities in the team, I play full back and everyone pulls together to build a good bond throughout the whole squad. We train twice a week with our academy coaches and conditioner, outside of the games day and focus on fitness, gym work, ball work and team runs. I am really enjoying my time here at the Warriors Sports College and would recommend their courses to anyone if they love sport, learning new things and playing rugby THOMAS MARSH Hi I am Thomas Marsh and I am currently on my 2nd year of study with Warriors Education. I attended Warriors Sports College during my school years 10 and 11, were I completed a Level 2 BTEC Sports course. I really enjoyed the atmosphere at the academy, so for that reason after leaving school I enrolled on the Warriors ‘Level 2 Diploma in Sport & Active Leisure’. The qualifications I achieved through the course were a L2 fitness instructor, L2 circuit trainer and L2 sport coach. That course lasted one year and was a great way to gain experience in what I would like to do as a career, which is become a sports coach or a fitness instructor. During the L2 course the tutors were really friendly and supportive, allowing us to enjoy our time at the academy and build a good bond between the students in our group, we could also speak to them about serious matters if needed. My time on Level 2 has really helped me with coping with work I now do on my BTEC Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Sport, for which I enrolled and started in September 13. I am enjoying BTEC Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Sport, I have a really good tutor who helps everyone with understanding the work and assessments, but also supports me when I need it.

Felly’s Football Tour Sprint/Summer 2021 (tbc) Fundraising for Fellysfund in memory of our good friend The Motivation To Turf Moor To the University of Bolton Stadium Supporting Felly’s Fund To Deepdale To Goodison Park To Boundary Park Felly's Football Tour Introduction 3 Redwood Events have been arranging charity walks and cycle events since 2007 and have recently started to work with the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation. This has given us a great exposure to, and understanding of, the challenges that the Motor Neurone Disease can bring. Life changes very quickly for those diagnosed with MND and for their families. The average life expectancy for someone with Motor Neurone Disease is just 2-5 years from the onset of symptoms. A third of people diagnosed will die within a year and half within 2 years. It’s a 1/300 lifetime risk in the UK of being diagnosed with MND. That’s 3 children in each and every school today. There is no known cause of MND and there is no cure or effective treatment, it’s always fatal. When Paul Stanway talked to us about the great work they have done in memory of their great friend Felly, we were very keen to help. Felly’s Football Tour will combine a 131 mile continuous walking tour from Liverpool FC (Felly’s favourite team) to Fleetwood Town FC calling at fifteen other football grounds in between. This is a journey of 130 miles. After a short break for breakfast, the walking will give to cycling as riders will then head north from Fleetwood Town to Barrow AFC via Morecambe FC, a journey of 73 miles.

The match will be the 91st time the Shield has been contested. The only match ever to go to a replay was the very first - in 1908. No club has a Shield pedigree like Manchester United. They were its first winners and have now clocked up a record 15 successes. They have shared the Shield an additional four times and have featured in a total of 28 contests. Wigan Athletic, by contrast, were a non-League club until 1978 and are playing the first Shield match in their 81-year history. The FA Charity Shield, its name until 2002, evolved from the Sheriff of London Shield - an annual fixture between the leading professional and amateur clubs of the time.

Rugby League as a Televised Product in the United States of America By Mike Morris Abstract Rugby league is a form of rugby that is more similar to American football than its more globally popular cousin rugby union. This similarity to the United States of America’s most popular sport, that country’s appetite for sport, and its previous acceptance of foreign sports products makes rugby league an attractive product for American media outlets to present and promote. Rugby league’s history as a working-class sport in England and Australia will appeal to American consumers hungry for grit and authenticity from their favorite athletes and teams.
