The Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation HK Branch Institution of Highways and Transportation Jointly Organized Site Visit to West Island Line, Contact 705, KET Station & Overrun Tunnel Date: 9 October 2010 (Saturday) Time: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

The Project encompasses construction of a cut-and-cover station in and an overrun tunnel with a total length of 650 meters, as one of the major projects for the West Island Line MTR extension. This is a challenging construction project with a lot of sustainable construction methods (you will hear the first hand experience about the tree wall) and engineering solutions to be used to cope with the constraints from the densely populated area and the objectives of minimising the impact on the neighborhood, the traffic and the environment.

Registration The number of participants is limited to 25. Members wishing to join the site visit are requested to complete the reply slip and return it to [email protected] or fax to 25479700 by 5 October 2010. It will be on a first come first serve basis with priorities given to members of the Institutions. Applicants are required to note and sign the following return slip regarding neither the Institution nor the parties concerned accept any liability in connection with the visit. (Please note that applicants will be banned for 3 consecutive visits if fail to turn up after successfully accepted)

Assembly Place 9:00am at Sai See Street Entrance, West Island Line MTR Project Office, Kennedy Town, Hong Kong. (Location Map will be sent out together with the confirmation email.)

Protective Safety Equipment Visitors must put on their own safety shoes, Safety Helmet, Reflective Vest for this visit.

Special note Late comers or persons not wearing safety shoes will not be entertained.
