Matters Arising At the last meeting the Sponsorship Committee asked to purchase tablecloths which was approved at the meeting but this was not reflected in the minutes. Leeanne Campbell enquired about the Pavilion Window & Door replacement. Nicky Lipscombe has looked into this and under our Insurance Policy our Excess is $2,500.00 therefore wouldn’t be justified under an Insurance claim. Replacement of the Film is $537.64 plus GST and to add a custom graphic would be an additional $420.75 plus GST. It was the wish of the Committee to go ahead as it is under the $1,500.00 budget set at last months meeting for Repairs & Maintenance. 4. Treasurers Report Report presented by Sharni Hunter Report attached to email. Floor questioned the $4329.04 under Repairs and Maintenance, this was for the Waterblasting of the Courts, Replacement of Basin Taps in downstairs Bathroom and Fire Protection Services. “that the accounts for April be ratified” Sharni Hunter / Jacqui Misa 5. Correspondence a) Inwards Page 1 of 7 - Vanessa Cole from the Bay of Plenty is wanting to join a netball team. Tara has her details if anyone is looking for an extra player. b) Outwards - At the last meeting, the Sponsorship Committee asked to purchase some tablecloths, which was accepted and approved at the meeting. This was however not reflected in the last months minutes. “that the inwards correspondence is accepted and outwards correspondence be ratified” Yvette Burden / Rachel Brown-Cole 6. Umpires Report Report presented by Eleanor Kitching Currently we are busy working through Junior Checklists which allows after minimum four games that the umpires could achieve their Junior Badge. Charlotte Cooper is sitting her NZ Theory exam tonight and I would like to wish her well for this exam. We are struggling to get umpires for our Rep teams but fortunately we have been helped out by Manurewa Netball and Netball North Harbour it is very difficult to get umpires for these teams as a lot of our umpires are in the team, working or busy. Just a reminder if there are any problems during a game please go up to the office and we can then send someone down to deal with anything that may be happening. 7. Draw Steward Report Report presented by Jo Morriss This Saturday we have the last competition games to complete Round One, and will then have the promotion relegation games played in the afternoon. Some teams will have two games. Teams that are involved in crunch games are indicated on the draw and the attachment. We will be able to confirm teams in promo relegation games once we have processed the results from the Saturday morning games. There will be promotion relegation games for grades: Premier, Premier Reserve, Grade 2 and Grade 5. There will be no promotion relegation playoff game for Grade 6. As we discussed at our May meeting, Grade 7 is still relatively new at our Centre as a transition grade for our 6 aside players moving to conventional netball. We have reviewed the Grade 6 and Grade 7 results from Round One so far. In Grade 7 there are two teams evidently stronger than the remaining teams in the grade and these teams will both be promoted to Grade 6 for Round two. There will be no relegation of any team from Grade 6 down to Grade 7. A reminder for teams involved in promotion relegation games, that you need to field registered players who have played at least 3 competition games for your team, or for a lower grade team in your club, prior to the game. Team sheets are required to be completed and handed to the office at least 15minutes before the game starts to enable our Registrations Officer time to confirm players are eligible to play in the promotion relegation game. The following week 22 June we have our Knockout Tournament. The draw is yet to be completed however will follow the same format as last year with junior games in the morning and senior games in the afternoon. All teams will have at least 2 games and we ask that teams check at the office before leaving even if they have a loss. Page 2 of 7 8. Coaching Coordinators Report Report presented by Yvette Burden We have been struggling to find a night of the week that accommodates all the coaches currently working towards their CCA Level 1, but have finally decided on a Wednesday. We have already run 3 coaching courses this season and plan to run the remaining courses on Wednesdays with a date yet to be decided, which will be based on feedback from the group of coaches who have completed the other modules. Please let your coaches know to get in touch with me if they want any information or would like to join any of our future courses. 9. Rep Liaison Officer Report Report presented by Dania Lomas This month has been busy for the reps and for our player development programme. Our rep teams have attended two tournaments, Pukekohe on the 29th of May and the Auckland on the 9th of June. At Pukekohe neither team came away with a win but all in all had a good day. At Auckland yesterday our under 15 team had two wins and our development team had some close games. Our next tournament for our under 15’s is on the 23rd of June at Howick. Our player development programme kicked off with our first two sessions on the 19th of May, we had Vicki Morgan from northern netball there to help get us on the right track. We had 32 players turn up for our first two sessions, our third session was held on the 25th of May with 32 turning up. Our fourth session was held on 7th of June with 25 turning up. We were going to hold our festival day at the Auckland rep tournament on the 9th of June, but due to a low response from parents we cancelled going to Auckland and may go to Papakura’s festival day. We have one session left which will be held this Friday the 14th of June. 10. Sponsorship Committee Report Report presented by Anne Walters The annual sponsors evening was a great success and well attended by our sponsors. Special guests from the Northern Stars were Leana, Temepara, Ellen and team manager Dee. It is always a great thrill to have attendance at any of our Waiuku functions from these ladies. The sponsorship draw was won by one of our very loyal sponsors Colin Riddle – the prize was kindly donated by the Northern Stars netball franchise for a season’s pass for the 2020 ANZ premiership competition. Entertainment was provided by the ladies from the ever-popular Australian TV show Kath and Kim, and not to forget Sharon. We welcome as new sponsors Pukekohe Toyota and Linda and Graeme Newell from The Roost. It is always great to see a new sign adorning our fence line. The supporter of the week photo this year, as you know, has changed its format but it doesn’t appear to be working that well having whoever is on exec duty to take the photo – I know everyone has lots of commitments on Saturdays so I welcome any suggestions as to how we can ensure this photo is taken weekly and forwarded to Tara for putting on our website/Facebook page. I am thrilled to advise that all invoices have now been paid for the 2018 season and our treasurer Nicky will be sending out the invoices for the 2019 year shortly. Addition to question of Supporter of the Day, current situation not working so suggestion of Team’s nominate their supporter by email to the WNC Email address, randomly a number is chosen and that email is the winner. This to be completed by the Assistant Secretary Page 3 of 7 11. Zone Report NTR Note: Eleanor Kitching suggested a letter of congratulations from Waiuku Netball Club be sent to Yvonne Willering and Maree Bernasconi for their Queen’s Birthday Honours and to Leana de Bruin and Ellen Halpenny wishing them well for the next chapter. 12. Kitchen Report Report presented by Leanne Campbell Eftpos – Jacqui Misa to liaise with Nicky Lipscombe (Treasurer) about getting a more reliable system in these areas i.e./Eftpos Machine. Linda Simmons suggested the can opener in the kitchen be replaced as she witnessed someone trying to open a can with a knife in the canteen.
