RACE 1: CAUDO SANGRIA HANDICAP - 1200 metres

COUNTESS QUEEN (L. Riordan) - in the vicinity of the was forced to race in restricted room for a short distance inside MISS CATASTOPHI, which had been taken in slightly by WINGS OF PASTRAMI. Laid out under pressure in the straight and approaching the shifted out and contacted NEWBAY FLYER (NZ). Rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100 metres and was reprimanded. Rider reported the filly was inclined to shift about in the straight and in his opinion felt sore approaching the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Lost its off hind plate during the event.

NEWBAY FLYER (NZ) (S. Logan) - jumped away awkwardly. Approaching the 100 metres was contacted by COUNTESS QUEEN.

WINGS OF PASTRAMI (P. Gatt) - in the vicinity of the 400 metres shifted in slightly onto MISS CATASTROPHI. Laid in under pressure in the straight. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100 metres and was reprimanded.

MISS CATASTROPHI (G. Cartwright) - in the vicinity of the 400 metres was taken in slightly onto COUNTESS QUEEN by WINGS OF PASTRAMI.

RACE 2: AAMI YOUNGCARE HANDICAP – 1538 metres

CALYPSO REIGN (K. Crowther) - raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Raced wide without cover throughout the event.

SIGN OF USSURI (B. Vorster) - held up for a short distance from approaching the 400 metres until the entrance to the straight. Shifted out under pressure from the vicinity of the and approaching the 100 metres shifted out onto ANGASTON, which had to be steadied. Rider was reprimanded.

ANGASTON (L. Riordan) - in the vicinity of the 100 metres had to be steadied for a short distance when SIGN OF USSURI shifted out.

TUBBY TWO TRACKS (R. Clark) - reared on jumping away. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Laid out under pressure over the concluding 200 metres.

HOLY DANCER (NZ) (G. Lo) - laid out under pressure over the concluding 200 metres.

RACE 3: GOLIATH SOLAR AND ELECTRICAL HANDICAP – 1600 metres

ROYAL RUMBLE (R. Clark) - slow to begin.

THOUGHTFUL HARMONY (A. Darmanin) - raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Rider reported that the mare raced keenly in the early stages and when asked for an effort inside the 600 metres, failed to respond to his riding and had not finished the event off. A post- race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

CHAPEL CITY (D. Tourneur) - raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

STAROUZ (L. Riordan) - rider reported that the gelding changed legs on several occasions during the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

RACE 4: LECONFIELD & RICHARD HAMILTON WINES HANDICAP - 1800 metres

YULONG RISING (IRE) (B. Vorster) - forced to be steadied in the vicinity of the 1400 metres to avoid the heels of ADATTO (NZ), which shifted in. Held up from approaching the 400 metres until inside the and then was obliged to be steadied off the heels of ADATTO (NZ), which was taken in.

PARLIAMENT (D. Tourneur) - held up from in the vicinity of the 600 metres until the entrance to the straight. Hampered in the vicinity of the 300 metres.

DOLLAR DOLLAR BILL (G. Cartwright) - jumped away awkwardly.

SET TO CRUISE (J. Maund) - held up from the vicinity of the 600 metres until the 400 metres. Had difficulty in obtaining clear ground from approaching the 200 metres when racing behind BLUE BEAR, which was inclined to shift about and was unable to improve its position until inside the 100 metres.

ADATTO (NZ) (A. Jordsjo) - In the vicinity of the 1400 metres shifted in when insufficiently clear of YULONG RISING (IRE), which was forced to be steadied to avoid the heels of ADATTO (NZ). Inconvenienced inside the 300 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that she shifted ground when insufficiently clear and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight on Saturday, 9 November and to conclude at midnight on Friday, 15 November 2019: a period of three meetings.

FIRSTCLASS DREAMER (L. Riordan) - in the vicinity of the 300 metres shifted in abruptly onto PARLIAMENT, which was hampered and taken in onto ADATTO (NZ), which was inconvenienced. Rider was reprimanded.

KORODON (NZ) (P. Gatt) - rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100 metres and was fined $100.

FOUR BY FOUR (A. Darmanin) - slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer Mr R. Laming was advised a Veterinary Certificate of Fitness would be required prior to presenting the horse for a future trial or race.

BLUE BEAR (R. Clark) - raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Inclined to shift about under pressure in the straight.

RACE 5: FURPHY HANDICAP - 1200 metres

STAR HILLS (A. Jordsjo) - raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Laid out rounding the home turn and inside the 300 metres shifted out and bumped MASTERATI. A post- race veterinary examination revealed poor recovery and in the opinion of the veterinary surgeon may have chocked down.

LUCKY BREAK (P. Gatt) - lost its position on jumping away when tightened onto SMART ALICK by ARCHWAY TO HEAVEN. In the vicinity of the had to be steadied to avoid the heels of SMART ALICK and was taken in onto STRYKE IN STYLE. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding bled from both nostrils and as this was the second occasion the gelding was now ineligible to race in accordance with AR79(6).

MASTERATI (S. Logan) - inconvenienced when bumped inside the 300 metres.

EXALTED TRAIL (J. Holder) - raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

SMART ALICK (D. Tourneur) - in the vicinity of the 800 metres shifted in onto LUCKY BREAK, which had to be steadied and was taken in onto STRYKE IN STYLE, which was forced to take hold. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that he shifted ground when insufficiently clear and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight on Saturday, 9 November and to conclude at midnight on Friday, 15 November 2019: a period of three meetings.

ARCHWAY TO HEAVEN (K. Crowther) - shifted out on jumping away tightening LUCKY BREAK onto SMART ALICK.

STRYKE IN STYLE (E. Boyd) - in the vicinity of the 800 metres was forced to take hold to avoid the heels of LUCKY BREAK, which had been taken in.

RACE 6: DAVID LOY MEMORIAL HANDICAP - 1600 metres

STAR STATUS (G. Lo) - raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. In the vicinity of the 200 metres shifted out abruptly resulting in PEARL BANDIT having to alter course.

WANTED BY ALL (T. Voorham) - raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

MISS BRIXTON (B. Vorster) - slow to begin. In the vicinity of the 1300 metres improved onto the heels of NANGAWOOKA as the pace eased slightly and had to momentarily steady and alter course. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Rider explained that the mare had been slightly inconvenienced in the vicinity of the 1300 metres, however had then travelled comfortably three wide with cover. He added, when placed under pressure inside the MISS BRIXTON had not responded to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

MABEL JOSEPHINE (E. Boyd) - raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Laid out under pressure in the straight.

EXALTED DEE (J. Holder) - hung in, in the straight.

SOLAAZEM (D. Tourneur) - raced wide without cover throughout the event.

PEARL BANDIT (R. Clark) - had difficulty obtaining clear ground from the vicinity of the 400 metres until the vicinity of the .

DESIDERO (S. Logan) - rider reported the gelding raced fiercely in the early stages of the event, became awkward in its action and in her opinion may have sustained an injury and for this reason she had elected to ease DESIDERO from the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Trainer Mr G. Young has been advised that the gelding is required to gallop a in the presence of a Steward prior to a future race.

RACE 7: AAMI RIZIZ SERIES FINAL - 1100 metres

CALL ME CURTIS (L. Riordan) - rolled out approaching the finish.

OCTANE (K. Crowther) - laid out rounding the home turn.

SHAMINO (J. Holder) - lost its position on jumping away when tightened onto BOLT I AM by BURNING THE CLOCK. Rider explained in relation to the gelding’s performance that he was obliged to settle further back after losing his position on jumping away. He added SHAMINO travelled well during the event however, when asked for an effort was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

BOLT I AM (G. Lo) - had difficulty obtaining clear ground from the entrance to the straight until the 100 metres.

ZARACE (A. Jordsjo) - rider questioned in relation to her riding over the concluding stages. After considering her explanation, she was charged under AR131(b) in that she had failed to ride her mount out to the end of the race. She pleaded guilty and was fined $500. Stewards advised A. Jordsjo that had they been satisfied that she had cost the gelding a finishing position, the penalty would have been significantly stronger.

HEAVEN’S DEAL (R. Clark) - a post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer Mr R. Jolly was advised a Veterinary Certificate of Fitness would be required prior to presenting the horse for a future trial or race.

READY SUNSHINE (S. Cahill) - rolled in approaching the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

BURNING THE CLOCK (B. Vorster) - shifted out abruptly on jumping away onto SHAMINO. Held up from approaching the 400 metres until near the 300 metres.

ANAMNESIS (K. Lau) - approaching the finish was forced to race in restricted room for a number of strides between the heels of READY SUNSHINE, which rolled in slightly at the same time as CALL ME CURTIS rolled out.

FLORID (E. Boyd) - raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

RACE 8: METAL-LINK HANDICAP - 1200 metres

GO THE JOURNEY (K. Lau) - raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. In the vicinity of the 600 metres had to be steadied as the pace eased.

MORVADA (S. Cahill) - inside the 200 metres shifted out and away from the whip of A. Darmanin, rider of EASY BEAST (NZ). Inconvenienced in the vicinity of the .

KARLOVASI (P. Gatt) - in the vicinity of the 600 metres eased the pace slightly when obtaining the lead resulting in GO THE JOURNEY improving on its heels. Rider was reminded of his obligations under AR131(d).

ARROW LANE (F. Cartwright) - in the vicinity of the 600 metres had to be steadied off the heels of GO THE JOURNEY as the pace eased.

EASY BEAST (NZ) (A. Darmanin) - laid out under pressure in the straight and in the vicinity of the 50 metres shifted out and inconvenienced MORVADA. Rider was advised to make a greater effort to keep his mounts straight in future.

DEBT COLLECTOR (R. Clark) - in the vicinity of the 600 metres had to ease off the heels of MORVADA as the pace eased.
