Singing the People's Passion SINGING THE PEOPLE’S PASSION Where? What? All Hallows Parish Church Choir, Easter Anthem to be performed at 10 a.m. Whitchurch, Hampshire Liturgy of the Resurrection on Easter Day. Any singers in the area who wish to augment our numbers will be extremely welcome. Rehearsals at All Hallows Church Thursday 29/3 and Wednesday 4/4 at 19:30. All Saints and St Margaret Church, The Pakefield Singers sing The People's Pakefield, Lowestoft/The Pakefield Singers Passion as part of Easter Sunday service at 18.30. BBC Radio Suffolk is following their progress. All Saints Church, Aston, Sheffield S26 2EE sing the People's Passion Mass and Easter Anthem during Maundy Thursday Communion Service, April 5th, at 7pm. They’re looking for a trumpet player, a cellist and two recorder players! BBC Radio Sheffield is following their progress. All Saints Church, Milton, Cambridge sing the Easter Anthem in the 10.30am service at All Saints Milton on Easter Day. Followed by BBC Radio Cambridgeshire. All Saints Church, Wellingborough, Wellingborough Deanery choir sing the full Northamptonshire Mass and Easter Anthem during their service on Wednesday 4th April at 7.30pm. Donald, Bishop of Peterborough presides. All Saints Parish Church, Thornton Hough, sing the Easter Anthem as a part of a Wirral service of readings and Passiontide music on Palm Sunday, starting at 6.30pm. All Saints Church Choir, St Leonards and St will be singing the Anthem on Easter Ives, Ringwood, Hampshire Sunday morning in our 10 am Service. We're a small village choir enjoying the challenge of learning a new work. Thank you to all involved in the project! CBSO Young Voices/Birmingham City Fresh from sell-out concerts at the O2, Centre CBSO's Young Voices choir will take the Easter Anthem out and about in Birmingham City Centre on Maundy Thursday, 5th April. Christ Church, Church in Wales, Lake Road sing the Easter Anthem during Easter North, Roath Park, Cardiff Sunday morning service, starting at 10.00am. Christ Church, Julian Road, Bath BA1 2RH sing The People's Passion Mass and the Anthem at Festival Eucharist on Easter Day, starting at 10.00am. Christ the King Church, 73 Haldens, sing the Easter Anthem during Easter Welwyn Garden City, Herts, AL7 1DH Sunday service, starting at 10.00am. Collavoce, North Yorkshire sing The People's Passion Mass. Cor Llanwnog, Powys, mid Wales perform the Easter Anthem alongside Stainer's Crucifixion in two concerts during Holy Week: on Palm Sunday evening, April 1st, at 7.00pm at Llanwnog Church (near Caersws, Montgomeryshire), and on Maundy Thursday, 5th April, at 8.00pm in St Idloes Church, Llanidloes, Montgomeryshire. Crewkerne Methodist Church, Somerset sing the Easter Anthem as part of Easter Sunday worship. Derby Bach Choir Derby Bach Choir will be hosting a Come & Sing event on Wednesday 4th April at St John's Church Bridge Street Derby. We will sing the The Easter Anthem from The Peoples Passion & Stainers Crucifixion. Rehearsal begins at 6.00pm & performance 8.00pm. All singers are welcome to come & take part in this newly restored church. Elvet Methodist Church, Old Elvet, Devon Will be singing the Angus Dei on 25th March during the morning service. Exeter Cathedral, Devon The St Peter's Singers of Exeter Cathedral will sing the Easter Anthem at the Cathedral Solemn Vigil of Easter on Saturday, April 7th at 8.00PM. Fareham Methodist Church, Hampshire The singing group sing the Agnus Dei during their Passion Sunday morning service. Fareham United Reformed Church Choir, sing the Easter Anthem during early Hants morning Communion Service on Easter Sunday, and are learning the rest of the mass to sing at a later date. BBC Radio Solent will record at their 8.15am Easter Sunday service. Farnham Methodist Church A small group will be singing the Easter Anthem as an introit to our 10.30am service on Easter Day. Festiva Chorus, Guernsey sing The People's Passion as part of their Good Friday concert, at St James Concert Hall, starting at 19.45. Gardner-Webb University Concert Choir, sing the Easter Anthem in their spring Boiling Springs, North Carolina, USA concert as well as taking it in on tour in the North Carolina area during March. Gloucester Cathedral Choir sing The People's Passion Mass and the Easter Anthem at Festal Eucharist on Easter Sunday morning. Radio Gloucestershire will be following their progress. Grimsby Minster, Humberside Sing The People's Passion on Good Friday. Harley Choir, Shrewsbury sing the Agnus Dei as part of annual Good Friday concert. Hartfield & Coleman's Hatch Churches, E ad hoc group including fabulous baritone Sussex soloist sing the Easter anthem on Easter Day. 'It will be quality!' Holy Saviour’s Singing for Fun Have just performed The People's Passion at Evensong on Passion Sunday. It was very well received and our vicar, Rev Geoff Lowson suggested we might perform it again during a morning Eucharist because of all the hard work we had put into it! We all really enjoyed taking part. Holy Trinity Church Choir, Exmouth We will be singing the Easter Anthem with Cello and Organ at the main Easter Sunday service (10am) Holy Trinity Choir, Rue de Mont Blanc, sing the Easter Anthem at Easter Day Geneva, Switzerland Eucharist, 10.30am. Holy Trinity Scottish Episcopal Church, Perform on Easter day and invite potential Dunfermline, Fife singers from the congregation to join them for the event. Holy Trinity Parish Church, Hastings Will sing the Mass and Easter Anthem throughout the week. The Horringer Singers will be singing the Horringer Singers, The Community Centre, Easter Anthem (Love's Young King) as part Horringer of their Easter performance at St Leonard's Church, Horringer, on Wednesday the 4th of April at 7.30pm. Horsforth Grove Methodist Church, Leeds We intend to sing the simple version as background to the congregation dressing the cross at the Easter Day 10.30 am service. IMPACT Choir, Purley Baptist Church, Impact and fourteen other churches in Croydon Purley will come together on Good Friday, 10.30am, in the grounds of the Tesco Supermarket, Purley Road, and sing the Easter Anthem as part of their Good Friday worship. They will be joined by the Cancer Centre Choir. King's Lynn Minster, Norfolk Sing the Easter Anthem on Easter night (8 April) as part of an Easter Praise service at 6:30, a service of readings and music. Kings Somborne Parish Church, Hants sing the Easter Anthem on Easter Day 8th April. Leicester Cathedral Choir A massed choir of clergy and other volunteers will sing the Agnus Dei from the People's Passion Mass at the Chrism Eucharist at 11am on Maundy Thursday. Leswalt Kirkcolm Church Choir Will sing the Agnus Dei at Easter services in Leswalt and Kirkcolm churches. We're only a small choir but manage SATB - at present! We're finding the last section tricky but will master it yet! Lewes Passion Play Group, E. Sussex Lewes Passion Play group will hold a day of workshops from 10am - 4pm on Saturday 31st March, in the Cluny Annex, St Pancras Church, Ireland’s Lane, Lewes. Join a workshop from 10am to sing, or to interpret the poem in movement/drama. Concert at 3pm to which all welcome. BBC Sussex will be following the day. Lincoln Community Charity Choir now rehearsing The People's Passion for performances in April. New members call Suzi Bowden 07984 531215. Long Ashton Parish Choir, Nr Bristol sing the Easter Anthem at communion service on Easter Day 8th April. Longridge Methodist Church We will be singing the anthem at our 11.00 service on Easter Sunday - hopefully, anyway! Beautiful anthem and I hope we can manage the main version and don't have to go for the simpler one. LOROS Singers & The Tudor Choir, being followed by Radio Leicester. Leicester Lyminge Parish Church of St Mary & St will sing the Easter Anthem on Easter Ethelburga, Kent Sunday. Madron Church, Cornwall sing the Easter Anthem at their Easter morning service, starting at 11.00am. Manchester Cathedral sing the full Mass and Easter Anthem as part of Easter Sunday worship, broadcast live on BBC Radio 4 at 08.10am on Easter Day. Middle Eden Voices, Long Martin Primary Community Choir perform the Easter School, Cumbria Anthem as part of a fundraising evening, at 6.30pm on 28th March. Newchurch Parish Church Choir, Our Parish Church Choir will be singing the Newchurch, Culcheth, Warrington, Easter Anthem during Easter Morning Cheshire Communion at 10.30am. It is a beautiful and moving anthem - thanks to Radio 4 for commissioning it. New Cross Church, Downing Street, Sutton New Cross Community Choir sing the in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire Easter Anthem on 1st April at Palm Sunday service starting at 9.30am.

Jane Robertson Writes... In his wonderful book ‘The Go-Between God’ John V. Taylor begins with the statement ‘The chief actor in the historic mission of the Christian church is the Holy Spirit. He is the director of the whole enterprise’. Taylor goes on to suggest that mission is what the Holy Spirit is doing in the world, and if we, as his church, are serious about mission we will join in. As a parish which tries to be outward facing, active in the community in order to live out the Gospel we proclaim, these words are pertinent to us. They are important and worth reflecting on. We are all frail, vulnerable human beings and it is so easy for us to get carried away with our own ideas. To become so busy working for the church or community groups that we forget to spend time with God. To try to do things in our own strength, not just as individuals but as a church, and then to lose sight of the risen Lord who must be at the heart of all we are and do. He is the one who binds us together, who inspires us and calls each one of us into the most important relationship in our lives and, in this post- resurrection world we live in, we experience the risen Lord through the Spirit.
