Background and Summary In Eastern Holland the area around the town of Enschede is somewhat remote from the rest of the Netherlands. Although only 5kms from the German border the two professional clubs that dominate the region are FC Twente ( TW) and FC Almelo Heracles (AH).These two clubs are 20 km from each other but the nearest other professional club-in the first division - is 50 kms away and the nearest current Dutch Premier League club is Vitesse Arnhem which is 90 kms from Enschede.In effect therefore the two clubs – FC Twente and FC Almelo ‘Hercules’ serve a regional population of 600,000 and are isolated from the rest of the Premier League clubs in Holland FC Twente have traditionally been a team in the highest Dutch League ,the ‘ Eredivisie ‘.They reached the final if the UEFA Cup in 1975 and after beating Juventus in the semi- finals, lost to German side Borussia Mönchengladbach in the finals Almelo Heracles (AH) has traditionally played more often in the league below the Eredivisie which in Holland is known as ‘Eerste Divisie’ AH were promoted to the Eredivisie in 2005. Historically TW have therefore been perceived as the bigger more successful club, spending longer in the top division. -

NIELSEN SPORTS WOMEN’S FOOTBALL 2019 WITH SUPPORTING SOCIAL MEDIA INSIGHTS FROM INTRODUCTION By almost any measure, the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup is poised to be the biggest yet. France will host the eighth edition of the tournament across nine cities – Lyon, Grenoble, Le Havre, Montpellier, Nice, Paris, Reims, Rennes and Valenciennes. With prime-time coverage expected across Europe, viewership is set to be up on the last tournament. At the same time, genuine commercial momentum is building with FIFA partners and team sponsors, notably Adidas and Nike, launching the most ambitious activation programmes yet seen for a women’s football event. Women’s club football is also growing around the world, an important development which looks set to ensure there is less of a spike in interest in women’s football around major international events like the World Cup as the club game sustains interest in the periods between them. There have been record attendances over the last year in Mexico, Spain, Italy and England, with rising interest levels and unprecedented investment from sponsors, while at a regional level, in Europe, UEFA is this season hosting the Women’s Champions League final in a different city from the men’s event for the first time. This report, put together by Nielsen Sports and Leaders, offers a snapshot of the health of women’s football as the World Cup gets underway, examining current interest levels, the makeup of fans and what the future may bring as it increasingly professionalises. On the eve of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, we have also worked with Facebook to look at interest in the women’s game across its platforms. -

I like it to play football by myself, to watch it on television, but also to read articles about football. The opportunity to combine my love for football with a scientific research for my Bachelor Thesis, could not be better for me. During an orientating conversation about the topic for my Bachelor Thesis with my thesis mentor Jos Bijman, I mentioned that I was always interested in the management strategies of organizations. What kind of choices an organization makes, what kind of resources an organization uses, what an organization wants to achieve and its performances. Following closely this process in large organizations is something I like to do in my leisure time. My thesis mentor Jos Bijman asked for my hobbies and he mentioned that there was a possibility to combine my interests in the management strategies of organizations with my main hobby football. In this way the topic Management strategies of football clubs in the Dutch Eredivisie was created. The Bachelor Thesis Management strategies of football clubs in the Dutch Eredivisie is executed in a qualitative research, using a literature study. This Thesis is written in the context of my graduation of the study Business-and Consumer Studies (specialization Business) at the Wageningen University and Research. From October 28 2019 until January 23 I have been working on the research and writing of my Thesis. -

Titel I: Inleidende bepalingen Inleiding Deze Standaardvoorwaarden zijn door de KNVB opgesteld teneinde een aantal doelen te verwezenlijken. Uitgangspunt is dat een ieder die betrokken is bij de voetbalsport in Nederland, en niet in de laatste plaats het Publiek, er belang bij heeft dat voetbalevenementen op een ordelijke en veilige wijze verlopen. Gedragingen van personen (alleen of in een groep) die de openbare orde en/of de veiligheid bij voetbalevenementen verstoren dan wel in gevaar brengen, zijn schadelijk voor het aanzien en het belang van het Nederlandse voetbal. Teneinde een ordelijk en veilig verloop in de ruimste zin van het woord te kunnen bewerkstelligen en een dergelijk onordelijk en onveilig gedrag bij voetbalevenementen te kunnen beteugelen, heeft de KNVB de onderhavige Standaardvoorwaarden opgesteld. Deze Standaardvoorwaarden dienen strikt te worden nageleefd. Artikel 1 Definities In deze Standaardvoorwaarden wordt verstaan onder: a. KNVB: de vereniging Koninklijke Nederlandse Voetbal Bond, statutair gevestigd te Zeist; b. Standaardvoorwaarden: de onderhavige Standaardvoorwaarden; c. Publiek: een ieder die in of buiten Nederland een Evenement bijwoont, dan wel anderszins aanwezig is in of rond het Stadion vóór, tijdens of na het tijdstip van aanvang van een Evenement; d. Stadion: het Stadion of (voetbal)terrein waar Evenementen plaatsvinden, alsmede de bijbehorende gebouwen en terreinen, daaronder begrepen de toegangen en toegangswegen; e.
