Resignations and Appointments N. 180227a Tuesday 27.02.2018 Resignations and Appointments Appointment of apostolic nuncio in Santa Lucia, Grenada and the Bahamas Appointment of auxiliary bishop of Warmia, Poland Appointment of apostolic nuncio in Santa Lucia, Grenada and the Bahamas The Holy Father has appointed as apostolic nuncio in Santa Lucia, Grenada and the Bahamas H.E. Rev. Msgr. Fortunatus Nwachukwu, titular archbishop of Acquaviva, apostolic nuncio in Trinidad and Tobago, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, the Commonwealth of Dominica, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, and apostolic delegate in the Antilles. Appointment of auxiliary bishop of Warmia, Poland The Pope has appointed as auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Warmia, Poland, the Rev. Janusz Ostrowski, of the clergy of the same archdiocese, currently adjunct judicial vicar of the Metropolitan Tribunal, assigning him the titular see of Caltadria. Rev. Janusz Ostrowski The Rev. Janusz Ostrowski was born on 16 November in Olsztyn, archdiocese of Warmia. After his high school examinations he was admitted to the “Hosianum” Metropolitan Major Seminary and received priestly ordination on 25 May 1991 for the same archdiocese. In 1997 he obtained a doctorate in canon law from the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome. 2 Since priestly ordination he has held the following offices: vicar in the parish of Saint Catherine in Braniewo (1991-1993); notary of the Metropolitan Curia (1997-1998); vice- rector of the Major Seminary and lecturer in canon law (1998-1999); missionary fidei donum in Togo (1999-2006), vicar in the parish of Saint Adalbert in Olsztyn (2006-2008); postulator in the cause of beatification of 46 martyrs of Warmia during the Second World War (2007-2011); head of pastoral ministry of Jurists of the archdiocese (2008-2009); and referent for missionary pastoral care for the archdiocese (2010-2013). Since 2011 he has also served as adjunct lecturer at the Theological Faculty of the State University of Warmia and Mazury. He is currently also canon of the collegial Chapter of Lidzbark Warmiński and member of the group for canonical visits. He has a good knowledge of Italian and French..

We, members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria, held our First Plenary Meeting of the year from February 16 to 22, 2013, at the Daughters of Divine Love Retreat and Conference Centre, Lugbe, Abuja.
