Appointment of auxiliary bishop of Warmia, Poland The Pope has appointed as auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Warmia, Poland, the Rev. Janusz Ostrowski, of the clergy of the same archdiocese, currently adjunct judicial vicar of the Metropolitan Tribunal, assigning him the titular see of Caltadria. Rev. Janusz Ostrowski The Rev. Janusz Ostrowski was born on 16 November in Olsztyn, archdiocese of Warmia. After his high school examinations he was admitted to the “Hosianum” Metropolitan Major Seminary and received priestly ordination on 25 May 1991 for the same archdiocese. In 1997 he obtained a doctorate in canon law from the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome. 2 Since priestly ordination he has held the following offices: vicar in the parish of Saint Catherine in Braniewo (1991-1993); notary of the Metropolitan Curia (1997-1998); vice- rector of the Major Seminary and lecturer in canon law (1998-1999); missionary fidei donum in Togo (1999-2006), vicar in the parish of Saint Adalbert in Olsztyn (2006-2008); postulator in the cause of beatification of 46 martyrs of Warmia during the Second World War (2007-2011); head of pastoral ministry of Jurists of the archdiocese (2008-2009); and referent for missionary pastoral care for the archdiocese (2010-2013).
