Box N-7540 Newsletter Date Principal’s Message March — April 2020 Dear Members of the Aquinas College Family, Warmest greetings to all of you! Principal’s Message 1 Papal Nuncio Visit 2 - 3 ACES Pride 4 - 6 With our entrance into the season of Lent, we are reminded World Scholar’s Cup 7 that this special season provides all of us with a time to Term 1 Honor Roll 8 - 14 prepare for the essence of our faith—the death and Catholic Schools Week 15 - 17 Sports Day 2020 18 - 20 resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Lent is a forty day Lenten Season 21 - 23 penitential period on the church’s calendar that promotes self examination and opportunities to renew our faith and relationship with God. This sacred season coincides with the season of Spring, which calls to mind new life and growth; hope and change that characterize this time of prayer, penance and Lenten Season conversion. We were encouraged to embrace opportunities of performing February 26 - April 11, 2020 acts of kindness for others and to give discretely to those who often go without. Indeed, the gift of a giving heart is a true blessing worth passing on Commonwealth Day to our young people. March 9, 2020 EASTER BREAK During this season, it is traditional for many of us to make promises of an April 3 - 19, 2020 increased prayer life and to abstain from short-lived gratifications. These SENIOR MOCKS promises are our focus for the forty days of Lent and will be a reminder that April 1 - 3, 21 - 25, 2020 Lent is a time to change the things in our lives which separate us from Jesus. We know that keeping true to our resolutions can be difficult and that sometimes we may lose focus. However, this is a good lesson for our students to keep on trying and to never give up. It is my hope that by all of us taking time from our busy schedules to develop our relationship with God, we can use the Lenten season to develop a greater appreciation of the life that God is calling each of us to lead. May God’s blessings and guidance be with you as we repent and renew our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
