HARZAND KEY FACTS

HARZAND achieved a remarkable feat in winning both the blue ribbon of the turf, the Gr I Epsom Derby, Dual and the Gr I Irish Derby this year. In doing so, he became Derby winner only the 18th horse to complete this Derby double in 151 years and H.H. the Aga Khan’s fi fth dual Derby winner.

HARZAND won four races in four months, winning by 16 lengths on his seasonal debut before taking the Class Gr III Ballysax Stakes over 10 furlongs, en route to two and consistence back to back Group I victories at Epsom and the Curragh, showing class and courage.

HARZAND is a son of the champion SEA THE STARS, who is currently the third leading European sire. He is the Leading sire of 12% Stakes winners to runners from his fi rst four sire crops, a ratio bettered only by Dubawi at the same stage in their careers.

HARZAND’s dam HAZARIYA is a Gr III winner over 7 furlongs. He is a brother to three Stakes performers, including Gr III Blue winning juvenile Harasiya, also 3rd Moyglare Stud Stakes blooded pedigree Gr I, from the immediate family of Gr I winner SEAL OF APPROVAL and dual Gr I winning 2yo HITTITE GLORY.

HARZAND has a 5/6 inbreeding to Northern Dancer and Attractive a 4/5 inbreeding to Mr Prospector, making him an attractive cross cross for a wide selection of broodmares.
