[email protected] 6 Confederation of European Baseball Presidential Report 2018 Dear CEB member Federations, The year 2018 was one for the books. History was made twice, first with the birth of the World Baseball Softball Confederation Europe during an inaugural Congress organized in Val d’Europe, and second with the inaugural edition of the Super 6 Baseball Softball organized by Koninklijke Nederlandse Baseball en Softball Bond, CEB and the European Softball Federation in Hoofddorp. Two events that proved that baseball and softball can work together, that they indeed belong together. With a unanimous vote during the Congress held in February, all Baseball and Softball National Federations of Europe have affirmed their will to keep moving forward as one and only sport within one organization in the future. They were proved correct with the organization of a first ever

In Part: ISF President: Don Porter, Director General: Toma Malikoff. Acronyms: DOU (ISF Director of Umpires), RUC (Regional Umpire Coordinator), NF (National Federation), IUS (ISF International Umpire Staff) 1 Introductions Action 1.1 DOU Bob Stanton welcomed those Regional Umpire Coordinators who could make the Noted meeting. Bob indicted that due to funding restraints, not all Committee members could be invited to the meeting. 1.2 ISF President Mr. Porter was invited to address the meeting. Noted • Mr Porter also advised that due to the budget constraints, reduced numbers were invited to this meeting. • Mr. Porter stressed the importance of umpiring with respect to the image of our sport on the international stage. He thought that softball was fortunate to have a robust umpiring programme that serves the sport well • Mr Porter expressed concerns that National Federations will experience budget issues in the future and this may impact their ability to send teams to World Championships. The ISF and member Federations must continually seek alternate revenue streams. • 2020 Olympic Program – Softball is on the short list of 8 sports under consideration. Softball and Baseball are pursuing joint presentation and are meeting with IOC next week to clarify the combined bid as to what is expected in terms of a combined sport with two divisions. The message from the IOC seems to be that there needs to be a commitment from Major League baseball.

    Committee: Date: Public Relations and Economic Development Sub 10th October 2019 Committee Subject: Public Sport Engagement – Progress Update Report of: For Information Director of Communications Report author: Sam Hutchings, Sport Engagement Manager Summary This report forms part of the quarterly updates provided to this Sub Committee on sport engagement work being undertaken by Sport Engagement Manager for the City of London Corporation The Sport Engagement Manager has been in post since 10th June this year and has helped facilitate events to celebrate the Major League Baseball London Series and the World Para Swimming Championships in London. He has also met with relevant officers from across the organisation to discuss the new sport engagement approach and visited all the sports facilities provided at the City’s open spaces and within the square mile. This report provides an update on this work and also provides details on promotional material to be used at sport engagement events as well as plans to celebrate sport events in the near future. Recommendation Members are recommended to: note the contents of this report. Main Report Background 1. Members of this Sub Committee recently agreed that the City of London Corporation should adopt a more pro-active and strategic approach towards sport engagement and that a new post be created to oversee this work. These proposals were subsequently endorsed by the Resource Allocation Sub Committee and the Policy and Resources Committee. In addition, this Sub Committee’s Terms of Reference now reflect its responsibility for overseeing sport engagement matters. 2. Since 10th June this year a full-time permanent Sport Engagement Manager (SEM) has been in post.

We are so excited to welcome you back to campus for the Fall 2020 semester. Our coaches and staff have been working hard all spring and summer to provide you with a great student athlete experience. On Friday, July 31st, the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Council of Presidents voted to move forward with the fall sports season as it is currently scheduled. For Harris-Stowe Athletics, this decision means that seasons for Men’s Soccer, Women’s Soccer, and Volleyball will take place. Winter sports seasons and spring sports seasons are still scheduled to take place as well. The safety of our student athletes, coaches, and staff is our number one priority. In June, I appointed a Harris-Stowe Athletics COVID-19 Task Force to develop a Return to Play plan of action that focused on creating a safe environment while also allowing our teams to be competitive. Referencing guidance from local health officials, Harris-Stowe Athletics has developed and instituted policies and procedures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
