Conestoga Valley High School will host their annual College Night on November 5th from 6-8PM. They will host over 200 post- secondary institutions at their college fair and will provide seminars on Financial Aid and Choosing a College. Stop in the Counseling Office for more information. Attention Seniors: Millersville University Admission Officers will be back on October 26th to meet with Seniors for Instant Decision. During this time, students will meet with an admissions representative one on one for an on the spot admissions decision. Students must apply in advance and bring a copy of their SAT or ACT scores. The decision is not binding. Interested students must sign up for the visit on Naviance. Attention Sophomores: The HOBY Leadership Seminar is an elite 4-day conference designed to empower high school sophomores to recognize their leadership talents and apply them to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school and community. Qualifications include: outstanding oral/written skills, critical/creative thinking and problem solving, and participation in community service. Applications must be submitted on Naviance by 11:59 on Monday, November 5. For application information, please stop by the Counseling Office. If you wish to change your club, please do so in the Library before our next club period on Wednesday, October 24th. This is a reminder to all Seniors that you can invite any family member who is a veteran or active member of the military to be our honored guest(s) at our Veterans’ Day Assembly. Please note that the date has changed to Friday, November 9th at 9:30 AM in the auditorium. Please see Mrs. Ridley in the main office to R.S.V.P. Are you struggling with a class? Do you need extra help on an upcoming assignment? The National Honor Society can help. Our students offer FREE tutoring services before, during, and after school. Pick up a tutoring request form in the Guidance office or outside of room 229. See Mrs. Sweeney for more information. Red Ribbon Week is here, October 23rd to the 31st! Decorate your homeroom teacher’s door with the theme “Life is your journey travel drug free.” The winning prize is a $2.00 lunch gift card per student. MTHS Jazz Band! Auditions for the 2018/19 jazz band will be held in room 157 after school on 11/6 and 11/7. Sign-up for a time slot and pick up audition materials for your instrument on the wall across from the TV studio. If you have any questions, contact Mr. Schlosser. The applications for the 2019 Four Diamonds Pageant are available outside of Mr. Sneeringer's room and spread out throughout the building. Please scan the QR code and complete the application by Friday, October 26th at 3 PM. Key Club is holding its first ever "Trick-or-Teach" fundraiser all this week to benefit UNICEF. Donate enough money to participating teachers and they will be in costume for the entire day on Halloween. See the posters and flyers around the school for the list of teachers. Would you like to volunteer to make a real difference in the life of a child? There are still seats left for the Service Trip to the Dominican Republic from February 9-16. We will teach English for a week in the fishing village of Monte Cristi. Children who can speak English can break the cycle of poverty and live a life of choice. Pick up information in the main office or see Ms. Niemi. Remaining seats are available on a first come, first serve basis. -see other side- There will be a brief meeting after school Wednesday, 10/24, in Room 176 – the Health classroom – for students who need help setting up their Outreach 360 accounts for the service trip to the Dominican Republic. It will not take more than 10-15 minutes. One week remains to sign up for this year’s ski and snowboard trips with the MT Ski Club. You don’t want to miss out on five Friday nights at Blue Mountain Ski Resort, or skiing/riding at three legendary Vermont resorts. Check out full trip details and download the registration papers at www.mtski.com and be sure to submit payment and registration to the Manheim Township Recreation and Park Planning by Friday, October 26. If you are interested in playing a winter sport, please turn in a PIAA Physical to the Athletic Department by Thursday, November 8th, 2018. Tryouts will begin November 16, 2018, time & locations to be determined. You cannot tryout without a valid PIAA Physical on file with the Athletic Department. PIAA Physicals can be found on our website on the Athletics Page. If have already turned one in for a fall sport, you will still need to complete Section 7 of the physical for re-certification. For more details, visit the Athletic Department. There will be an organizational meeting for all students interested in participating on the 2018-19 swimming and diving team. The meeting will be held in the high school natatorium at 7:00 AM on Wednesday, October 24th. OPEN BOWLING: For those interested in trying out for the high school bowling team, there will be OPEN BOWLING 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays at Dutch Lanes. Cost is $3.00 for the session. You will need to provide your own transportation. Attention all girls in grades 9-12 interested in trying out for basketball. There will be an organizational meeting after school on Wednesday, October 31 in room 173 prior to open gym. The meeting will begin at 2:45 and important paperwork will be distributed at this meeting, if you cannot attend please see Coach Burkhart in room 173. Boys Basketball Open Gyms: Open gyms for all boys entering grades 9-12 for the 2018-2019 season will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Arena, times will vary. Calendars will be available at open gym or by contacting Coach Johns. Google calendar schedules are available via the Athletic Department's website and social media posts. Please pay attention to announcements on bad weather days as Fall sports may take the gyms. Registration is now open for Manheim Township Boys High School Rec Basketball.
