BLUE RIDGE SCHOOL BUILT FOR ATHLETICS Blue Ridge School’s athletic program has developed a history of tradition and excellence during more than 110 years. We support 20 varsity and JV athletic teams playing in the Virginia Independent Confer- ence (VIC) and the Virginia Independent School Athletic Association (VISAA). Blue Ridge requires students to participate in an extracurricular activity each trimester, producing many three-sport athletes. In addition to traditional sports, we offer non-competitive outdoor ad- venture sports, mixed martial arts, and marksmanship. Our athletics program takes advantage of our natural surroundings, particularly our 750-acre campus. Our mountain biking team, Outdoors Programs, and cross country teams use the 15-miles of trails on our mountain, while our more traditional sports practice and play at the Baron Athletic Complex, including an all-season turf field, a 2000-square foot weight room, and our multi-sport field house. Blue Ridge School is committed to the many benefits of the teacher-coach model. Most of our coaches are full-time faculty members who live on campus and play an active, daily role in the life of each student-athlete.
