HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 351
By Lamberth
A RESOLUTION to congratulate Tomi Lahren on relocating to Tennessee.
WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly take great pleasure in welcoming to
Tennessee yet another committed conservative and great American; and
WHEREAS, Tomi Lahren is an astute and highly popular American conservative political commentator and television host; and
WHEREAS, in the latter role, she gained national acclaim for her short video segments called "final thoughts," in which she frequently criticized liberal politics; many of these videos went viral, causing The New York Times to describe her as a "rising media star"; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Lahren has also worked for the Great America Alliance, an advocacy organization that supports President Donald Trump; and
WHEREAS, in August 2017, she joined Fox News as a contributor and currently hosts a talk show on Fox Nation, No Interruption; and
WHEREAS, like many intelligent conservatives, Tomi Lahren has relocated from the Left
Coast to the State of Tennessee, which will happily reap the positive economic benefits resulting from the depopulation of our so-called elite liberal cities; and
WHEREAS, California's loss is most certainly Tennessee's gain as Ms. Lahren will not only contribute significantly to our economy but also add to our already burgeoning pool of creative talent; and
WHEREAS, in a recent interview, Ms. Lahren stated that the absence of an income tax in Tennessee played a part in her decision to move to the Volunteer State; and

WHEREAS, we Tennesseans have always known that higher taxes stifle economic growth and bloat government at the expense of citizens who work hard every day not only to survive but also prosper; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Lahren will serve as another robust voice against excessive taxation as a Tennessean; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
TWELFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
CONCURRING, that we congratulate Tomi Lahren on relocating to Tennessee and extend to her our best wishes for much continued success in her career.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
