Under U.S. GAAP, combinations of entities under common control are accounted for under the ""as if pooling-of-interests'' method, whereby assets and liabilities are accounted for at historical cost and the Ñnancial statements of previously separate companies for periods prior to the combination generally are restated on a combined basis.
