It has endured in the face of the changing times, without itself changing much, isolated off in its own world. Glorfindel had the opinion that Bombadil would be the last to fall, after all else was lost, last as he was first. In Tolkien’s story, that opinion was never tested. Good triumphed over evil, and everyone lived happily ever after. Not true on the Internet. Since 1993, the forces of evil have created a desolation and oppression that Sauron even with the help of his ruling ring could not imagine perpetrating. From the days of the Internet as an academic research network until today’s Internet I have witnessed ruination unbelieveable. The decay, corruption, and runiation of the Internet boggles my mind. Like Tom Bombadil in his carefully demarcated borders, The Genesis Discography has been an island in the storm, surrounded on all sides but never giving in.

I lost interest half way through David Tennant's tenure in the driving seat of the TARDIS and only came back on board half way through whatshisface's seasons, but I have been massively impressed by Dear Friends, Peter Capaldi, who has brought back the curmudgeonly element that I feel has been Welcome to another issue of the magazine, which missing from the role in recent years. each issue I reiterate that I am not just proud to be the editor of, but that it never ceases to amaze me I lost interest in Dr Who for some years mainly that it has been going for so many weeks without because I had a lodger who was so irritating about a break.

2 Another happened last year when the Rolling Stones dragged Mick Taylor away from undeserved obscurity, and played a series of barnstorming gigs including Glastonbury Festival, and another is going on at the moment and started last night. King Crimson have been, unarguable, one of the most idiosyncratic and artistically interesting bands for forty five years now, since they formed in 1968. Leader Robert Fripp left the music business some years ago, and King Crimson seem to have been on indefinite hiatus since about 2008. However, last year Fripp announced that the band will return, and this week, the new seven piece line-up played their first shows. The silence surrounding these shows is deafening. I spoke to Jakko Jakszyk who is the second guitarist and vocalist with the new King Crimson, last week on Facebook. He was understandably cagey about Dear Friends, what was happening. I asked how the rehearsals were going, and he said that they seemed OK but Welcome to another issue of the Gonzo Weekly. told me to ask him again after they had done a show or two. There are all sorts of political reasons why the event has moved there. If you really want to find out more about the irritations and machinations behind this, then you can easily find them on line but this is neither the time nor the place to talk about it. The main reason that I wanted to move to The Small School is that it is an institution that I feel is very much deserving of our support. If Corinna and I had children of school age I think it is a foregone conclusion that we would have sent them there. It was founded in the early 1980s by the Indian philosopher Satish Qunar and it has a refreshingly independent view of education.
