It is an absolute privilege to see first-hand the incredible range and standard of entries we attract each year to our competitions. It is thanks to entrants such as yourself that our competitions are so highly anticipated and regarded. There is no doubt it has been an incredibly difficult 12 months for all involved with the Sydney Royal Easter Show and our competitions and we appreciate, more than ever, your trust in our events and your willingness to work hard and be ‘competition ready’. Highlighting excellence, and the ethos of striving to always be better, we acknowledge a remarkable contribution from the rural and regional communities that are proud of all they are achieving despite conditions that should be working against them. It is a testament to the resilience of all involved with Australian agriculture, livestock and produce that entry numbers remain high and the standard is extremely competitive. As I thank all competitors I must also thank our judges for giving their time so willingly and sharing their expertise with all involved. Also thank you to our generous sponsors along with our Committees, Councillors, Breed Societies and supporters. On behalf of everyone involved with the Sydney Royal Easter Show, Sydney Royal competitions and the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW as a whole, I hope you have enjoyed your Sydney Royal experience and I encourage you to join in the tradition of entering every year. Thank you from the President Thank you for entering one of our Sydney Royal Competitions. Once again, I am delighted to see the remarkably high standard of entries they attract. We first judged livestock, produce, cotton and silk in the 1820s with the aim of ‘exciting in proprietors an ambition to excel above others’. This initial aim forged the charter of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) – to encourage and reward excellence, and support a viable and prosperous future for our agricultural communities. Your participation in this competition continues the tradition and wholeheartedly supports our charter. Sydney Royal Competitions highlight excellence and the passion of so many talented producers and exhibitors not only from New South Wales, but from right across the country. Winning a prestigious Sydney Royal award is a reward for hard work and dedication, and brings numerous commercial opportunities as well. Major award winners have the benefit of Sydney Royal medal artwork to promote their success to collectors, customers and consumers. The increased interest can help our rural communities to remain strong and vibrant. We review our Competitions every year, to ensure they remain relevant to industry standards and trends, and we always welcome feedback. Encouraging a dialogue with producers and exhibitors in another way in which we can retain our strong links with agricultural industries and communities. Thank you to all of our judges for their expertise and the time they dedicate to recognising the best and providing valuable feedback to entrants.

  • NAB Agribusiness Contacts
Pioneering Natural Value NAB Agribusiness Calendar 2015 The 2015 NAB Agribusiness Calendar celebrates NAB’s ongoing support for natural value. A healthy economy and healthy environment go hand-in-hand, and natural value is all about taking advantage of new opportunities that arise from an increased focus on natural capital and the environment – whether that be water and energy efficiency or advances in pest and waste management. That’s why NAB has established a Natural Value strategy, which focuses on better understanding and managing our own natural capital risks, and backing businesses to do the same. Australian farmers recognise more than anyone the importance of balancing environmental and sustainability concerns with their business operations. There is no shortage of exciting opportunities ahead as we see Australian agribusinesses increasingly taking advantage of sustainability issues that were once considered solely a risk, and leveraging new business opportunities that arise. Having supported Australian farmers and agribusinesses for over 155 years, we understand the important role our farmers play in the progress of natural value. I’m proud NAB was one of the first banks in the world to sign up to the Natural Capital Declaration to build on our understanding of the value natural capital brings to our economy. As we look to 2015, we wish all farmers a prosperous and successful year, and our team looks forward to working with you to take advantage of the opportunities ahead.
