Daniel’s win, the second for the team and for the Renault Energy F12014 Power Unit this season, came after a thrilling threeway battle for the lead with Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton. Sebastian Vettel secured seventh position for Infiniti Red Bull Racing and JeanEric Vergne ninth for Scuderia Toro Rosso, putting three Renault Energy F12014 Power Units into the top ten. The result consolidates Infiniti Red Bull Racing’s second position in the constructors’ championship and Daniel Ricciardo’s third in the drivers’ race. Key race points: Daniel Ricciardo mastered the everevolving track conditions to move into the lead on lap 9 during the first safety car period. He retained the lead until the second deployment of the safety car and then pitted for a third time in the final third of the race. The Australian hunted down Rosberg for P3, then made a bravado move on Lewis Hamilton for second on lap 67. The next lap he outbraked Alonso into the first corner for the lead and eased out a cushion of five seconds to seal his second career win and the second for the Renault Energy F12014 Power Unit. COMMUNIQUÉ DE PRESSE 20141123 ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX RACE REPORT Daniel Ricciardo’s storming performance helped him recover from a pitlane start and end his impressive first season at Infiniti Red Bull Racing with a fourth place finish in today’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Sebastian Vettel couldn’t quite match his teammate’s heroics en route to eighth, while Scuderia Toro Rosso’s JeanEric Vergne just missed out on the points in 12th. Romain Grosjean fought back from grid and drivethrough penalties to finish 13th for Lotus F1 Team, and Caterham F1 Team’s Will Stevens enjoyed a solid first Formula 1 appearance by coming home 17th. Key race points: Abu Dhabi’s unique late evening start time provided a stunning backdrop to the world championship decider and also threw up a variety of tyre strategies as the track cooled throughout the evening. Starting from the pitlane proved no hindrance to the Red Bull pair who diligently picked their way through the midfield during the opening stint on prime tyres. Ricciardo had the best of the traffic and was up to fifth when he pitted for the first time on lap 28. Another fast and consistent stint saw him running third when he stopped for the final time to switch to the option tyres with just eight laps remaining, before finishing one place higher than where he originally qualified. Vettel was also able to charge through on the same strategy but could only finish eighth despite picking off both Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg over the final 10 laps.

Call Number: Archival Collection 26 Quantity: 931 cubic feet (514 flat archival boxes, 98 clamshell boxes, 29 filing cabinets, 18 record center cartons, 15 glass plate boxes, 8 oversize boxes). Abstract: The Karl E. Ludvigsen papers 1905-2011 contain his extensive research files, photographs, and prints on a wide variety of automotive topics. The papers reflect the complexity and breadth of Ludvigsen’s work as an author, researcher, and consultant. Approximately 70,000 of his photographic negatives have been digitized and are available on the Revs Digital Library. Thousands of undigitized prints in several series are also available but the copyright of the prints is unclear for many of the images. Ludvigsen’s research files are divided into two series: Subjects and Marques, each focusing on technical aspects, and were clipped or copied from newspapers, trade publications, and manufacturer’s literature, but there are occasional blueprints and photographs. Some of the files include Ludvigsen’s consulting research and the records of his Ludvigsen Library. Scope and Content Note: The Karl E. Ludvigsen papers are organized into eight series. The series largely reflects Ludvigsen’s original filing structure for paper and photographic materials. Series 1. Subject Files [11 filing cabinets and 18 record center cartons] The Subject Files contain documents compiled by Ludvigsen on a wide variety of automotive topics, and are in general alphabetical order.
