Consumer press release Carnaby Street Eat One-day international food festival in the heart of the West End Saturday 11 July, 12 – 7pm Free entry • Over 30 of the area’s best restaurants, bars and cafés will bring their dishes and concepts out onto the streets of Carnaby • A live demo kitchen with a series of expert cooking demos, compered by foodie twins The Happy Pear – David and Stephen Flynn • Over 30 global cuisines • £5 taster dishes and on-the-day offers • Live music and entertainment • Supporting Charity Partners – Action Against Hunger and Trekstock Carnaby Street Food – stalls and trucks From Indian to Korean, Peruvian, Hawaiian, Japanese and British, there will be chance to sample authentic dishes and treats from around the world. Carnaby has become the dining destination of choice for the West End and is renowned for its exceptional mix of over 50 independent restaurants, new dining concepts and cafés, with Kingly Court, Ganton Street and Kingly Street being the food hubs within the area. Local restaurants, cafés and bars will be taking to the streets of Carnaby to run their own pop up stalls selling their authentic dishes and drinks with some £5 taster dishes. Also expect a variety of street food such as The Sol Bruvvas, Liberty Cheesesteak Company and Cocoa Runners along with Carnaby stalls cooking up delicious dishes. Stall highlights on the day: authentic ramen and steamed Shoryu buns from Shoryu in their new wagon and festival regulars Pizza Pilgrims serving their delicious Neapolitan pizzas from their Piaggio van along with their newly launch Pohocello. If you are looking to refuel, don’t miss Kingly Court’s new late night bar, Cahoots, who will be serving their bespoke cocktails with typically British sandwiches and popcorn to nibble on. Sample Peruvian BBQ delights at Señor Ceviche’s stall along with their famous Pisco Sour or if Greek is more your taste, The Life Goddess will be serving traditional Greek pastries to indulge in - don’t forget to take home some of their homemade deli products. Meat eaters can enjoy Beak Street’s Flat Iron who will be serving their Bavette. Those who love their Asian cuisines, head to Kingly Street for dishes such as beef sliders, vegetarian Japchae and Bosaam pork belly from the recently opened Korean-American Jinjuu. Authentic Korean Myung Ga will also be hosting a stall with delicious dishes and drinks. Modern Indian and British restaurant Cinnamon Soho will be bringing down their vibrant festival favourite stall ‘Joho Soho’ serving their signature dishes and cocktails. British favourites, Wright Brothers Soho will be serving up Prosecco with oysters and they’ll even show you how to shuck them. The Urban Tea Rooms will be putting on a delicious spread including a selection of sandwiches and quiches along with a refreshing cocktail. Make sure you try a pulled chicken bap and craft beer from concept chicken and egg restaurant Whyte & Brown. Those looking for a lighter guilt free lunch, The Detox Kitchen will be serving up juices with their signature salads. Hawaiian grill Kua ’Aina will be serving their beef, chicken, veggie burgers and fries from their ‘beach shack’ trailer along with a refreshing craft beer. Contemporary French restaurant and wine bar Antidote will be serving small charcuterie plates, paired with wine from their window on the cobbled street of Newburgh Street. Head to Ganton Street, and visit Cha Cha Moon who will be serving their signature Singapore noodles or stop by The Diner for an indulgent BBQ burger. Modern Spanish- Italian tapas restaurant Dehesa will serve chorizo rolls and Sangria and Rosa’s Thai will be serving hot dishes, salads and Chang beer. SACRED Café will be celebrating their New Zealand heritage with a BBQ and signature treats including ‘Kiwi’ rocky road, Anzac biscuits and New Zealand lolly cake. Late night bar Zebrano’s will be hosting a food and drink bar. For vibrant flavours, look no further than Lebanese Comptoir Libanais, for delicious fresh dishes and homemade lemonade. Meatballs and veggie curry with brown rice can be found at naturally fast food restaurant Leon’s stall. For those with a sweet tooth, head to Choccywoccydoodah on Newburgh Street where they will be giving out free chocolate samples or head to Stax Diner, for all American ice cream desserts and milkshakes or indulge in cupcakes from Kingly Court newbie Crumbs & Doilies. Grab a coffee and bakery treats from Carnaby’s latest opening TOMS at their stall. Demo Kitchen Restaurateurs, foodie twins and food writers The Happy Pear will host the live demo kitchen stage on Broadwick Street. Chefs from Carnaby restaurants, including Señor Ceviche, Whyte & Brown, Kua ‘Aina and Wright Brothers Soho will take to the stage to join The Happy Pear to entertain the audience and cook their signature dishes. Learn how to make the perfect BBQ burger, black pudding scotch egg or find out some insider secrets and tips including an oyster masterclass and a Peruvian traditional dish for Carnaby chefs. Entertainment Festival-goers can expect to be entertained by live acoustic music on the streets of Carnaby. Ain't Nothin’ But… renowned blues bar will be playing live music inside & outside their venue in Kingly Street. Stop by Kingly Court for some live acoustic sets in the courtyard. Make sure to bring the kids along for family fun such as; balloon sculptures from Miss Ballooniverse, face painting and don’t forget to have a go on the Carnaby Coconut Shy. Charity This year, Carnaby will be supporting two charities, Trekstock and Action Against Hunger. Pop over to Trekstock’s stand, grab some free nibbles from Urban Fruit and pick up your Carnaby tote bag for a £3 donation - all whilst finding out what they’re doing to help young adults thrive through and beyond cancer. Stop by international humanitarian charity, Action Against Hunger, who will host a stall where you can pick up a Carnaby tote bag. All funds raised will go towards Action Against Hunger’s work to end child hunger around the world.
