The proposed hours were in keeping with the operation at The Savoy which is the premises’ landlord and is connected to Simpsons. Simpsons is not located in one of the Council’s designated stress areas and there was therefore no policy presumption against the application. The Police and Environmental Health had maintained their representations as the proposed hours were beyond core hours. However, the Applicant had agreed the Responsible Authorities’ proposed conditions. These included a Police condition that there would be a minimum of two SIA door supervisors on duty between 1am and 3.30am Wednesday to Saturday and an Environmental Health condition that there would be no admittance or re-admittance to the premises after 1am. The Sub-Committee granted the application. Members had heard that there was no record of public nuisance at the premises and that there was no intention for Simpsons to change the way it operated. The Sub-Committee granted the application. Aura, 48-49 St James’s Street, SW1 (St James’s Ward / not in stress area) - The premises operate as a nightclub on the lower ground floor. The Applicant, who is the landlord of the property, submitted a new application to apply for a secondary licence at the premises. It was confirmed that the licensable activities and hours applied for mirrored those of the existing licence for the premises. The Sub-Committee granted the secondary licence application with the same hours for licensable activities and almost exactly the same conditions (bar some minor updates) attached as the existing primary licence.
