PUBLIC MEETING MONDA Y, JANUARY 6, 1992 TOWN OF SYLVAN LAKE 7:30 P.M. COUNCIL CHAMBERS Present Mayor R. Shuman, W. Nicholson, L. Elciuk, D. Burns, V. Hamilton, S. Lambert. Absent T. Bradley Call to order Mayor R. Shuman called the Public Hearing to order at 7:30 p.m. Purpose Mayor Shuman explained that the purpose of the hearing was to solicit public comment on the application for a business license by Rev's Hover Sports. Mayor Shuman informed those present that there have been approximately 130 letters of opposition received At this point he called for public com ment. COUNCIL CHAMBERS Alana Irwin - Calgary Co-owner of Rev's Hover Sports She informed council that renters were required to take a trammg course prior to using the machines, they received a total of six complaints all summer, they did not have any insurance liability claims. The machines operate at 82 decibles at 15 meters, children scream at 100 decibles. She stated that she felt the hovercraft concession was a benefit to the summer visitors to the summer visitors to Sylvan Lake.
