The following were present: John Stumpf Mayor Richard Hunt Trustee Darwin Dominessy Trustee Trista Reisdorf Trustee Patricia Sherwood Trustee Marcia Spencer Clerk OTHERS PRESENT: Superintendent of Public Works Daren Smit h, Code Enforcement Officer Christopher Lexer, Fire Chief Jeff Holmes, Fire Department member Joseph Neamon, and Arcade Herald Reporter Leslie Lange. MINUTES Trustee Hunt seconded by Trustee Sherwood moved suspension of the reading of the Minutes of the previous board meeting of August 1, 2017 inasmuch as Board members had been supplied copies. Mayor Stumpf announced that corrections and alterations would then be heard, and concluding there were none, the minutes stand approved. Carried. PUBLIC Fire Department member Joseph Neamon attended the meeting to voice his disappointment in the way his 90 day suspension was handled. COMMITTEES Trustee Reisdorf/Recreation Director reported that it was a great year. After a tornado warning occurred during recreation, there was a concern over the children being sheltered in the Village Municipal Building. Fire Chief Holmes stated that it was better to shelter the children in the hall than have parents trying to get there and putting them in more harm’s way. DUFFIELD, Execuive Secretary and Director of Field Studies, New York Commnission on Ventilation 1 I. Introduction, The school ventilation study in Cattaraugus County, N. Y., is one of the three field studies undertaken by the New York Commission on Ventilation following its reorganization in 1926. In this study, as in that conducted in Syracuse, which has been reported elsewhere (1) (2) (3), the commission has been fortunate in collaborating with an enlightened public-health organization engaged in a "health demonstration." Both of these "demonstrations," testing the thesis Yf the late Dr. Hermann Biggs that public health is purchaseable, have received financial assistance from the Milbank Memorial Fund. This fund is also supportmg the current investigations of the com- mission, as it supported those of its predecessor, the New York State Commission on Ventilation. To the trustees of the Milbank Memorial Fund, to the officials of the Cattaraugus County Health Demonstration, to the superintend- ents of the rural school supervisory districts, and to the trustees of the various school districts, the commission expresses its appreciation for the opportunity of conducting this study. II. Object of the Study The primary object of the study was to determine just what were the air conditions in one and-two room rural sch-ools, with-the sec- ondary purpose of learning, if possible, how these air conditions affected the health of the pupils.     How to get a seat at the Annual Representative Meeting (ARM) How to get a seat at the Annual Representative Meeting (ARM) Purpose of these pages In 2005, the BMA’s Representative Body (RB) agreed changes to its constitution aimed at increasing access to the Annual Representative Meeting (ARM). The ARM is one of the BMA’s main policy making bodies and these pages will explain the ways in which members of the Association can obtain seats at the ARM. The 2021 ARM will be held on 13 and 14 September. Membership of the RB and constitution There are 560 seats on the RB. 280 of these are allocated to the BMA divisions and another 280 are allocated to the branches of practice (see the list below) as well as to minority groups, overseas branches and others. The branches of practice are: (a) academics (b) armed forces (c) consultants (d) general practice (e) junior doctors (f) occupational medicine (g) public health medicine (h) staff, associate specialists and specialty doctors (i) members in practice but not covered by (a) to (h) above (j) medical students (k) retired members Routes to the ARM There are three routes for interested BMA members to use for attendance at the ARM: 1. They can seek one of the 280 seats allocated to BMA divisions. 2. INTRODUCTION This volume comprises the hearth tax returns for the historic East Riding of Yorkshire and the town and county of Hull.1 The East Riding, the smallest of the three Yorkshire ridings, covers some 750,000 acres (303,750 hectares). It is almost totally bounded by water with the Humber estuary to the south, the North Sea to the east, and the river Ouse to the west and south and river Derwent to the north. The boundary, around 200 miles in length, is only land- based for seven miles between York and Stamford Bridge and eight miles between Binnington Carr and North Cliff, Filey (Map 1).2 Hull, more correctly Kingston-upon-Hull, stands at the confluence of the river Hull and the Humber estuary. The riding divides into four main natural regions, the Yorkshire Wolds, Holderness, the Vale of York, and the Vale of Pickering (Map 2). The Yorkshire Wolds, a great crescent of chalk stretching from the Humber to the coast at Flamborough Head, is the most distinctive relief feature of the region. Essentially a high tableland of gently rolling downs dissected by numerous steep-sided dry valleys it reaches a maximum height of around 808 feet (246 metres) above sea-level near Garrowby Hill. At the coast the chalk cliffs rise up to 400 feet (120 metres). Along the western edge of the Wolds are the Jurassic Hills, a narrow band of limestone that broadens out to the north to form an area of distinctive scenery to the south of Malton.
