This course will provide technical fundamentals and experimental inspiration for developing drawing skills through observation, memory and imagination. Beginning with sketches, colour studies and roughs, learn how to build a painting, taking advantage of the unique properties that have made oil paint artists’ medium of choice for centuries. Alla prima and classical methods of oil painting will be taught. You will learn how to use proper grounds, mediums, colours, brush control and glazing techniques. This course is suitable for both beginners and experienced artists and includes a combination of group demonstrations and personal instruction.
