    The Official Gazette Issue no. 51 (bis.) on December 21st 2014 Page (2) Decree-Law of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt no. 202/2014 Concerning Electoral Districting for the Elections of the House of Representatives The President of the Republic Having perused: the Constitution; Decree-Law no. 45/2014 on the regulation of the Exercise of Political Rights; Decree-Law no. 46/2014 on the House of Representatives; Upon consulting the High Elections Committee; Upon the approval of the Council of Ministers; and On the basis of the opinion of the Council of State; Decided on the following Law: Article 1 The provisions of the attached law shall apply with regard to the first elections for the House of Representatives that is held after its entry into force and any related by-elections. Any provision contradicting the provisions of the attached law is hereby abolished. Article 2 The Arab Republic of Egypt shall be divided into 237 electoral districts (constituencies) under the Individual-Seat system, and 4 constituencies under the lists system. Article 3 The scope and units of each constituency and the number of seats allocated thereto, and to each Governorate, shall be pursuant to the attached tables, in a manner which observes the fair representation of the population and Governorates and the equitable representation of voters. The complete reports are available at: http://www.eeaa.gov.eg/English/info/report_search.asp Biodiversity Introduction: Biodiversity is the sphere of life on earth that encompasses ecosystems, natural habitats, fauna and flora, microbial species, and genetic resource. Biodiversity provides food, fuel, construction materials, waste purification and decomposition, climate regulation, alleviation of disasters, renewal of soil fertility, disease combating, keeping genetic resources (crops, breeds, animal wealth, medicine and other products). For that reason, biodiversity is the basis of life prosperity, the means of human lives and cultures, and by its conservation, we keep humanity, providing its treasures for the existing and future generations. The Arab Republic of Egypt has paid special attention in the last 2 decades for natural resources conservation issues, and has enacted legislation to conserve natural heritage with support of political leadership to assure integration of development sectors with environment protection, and conserving natural resources for the existing and future generations. The promulgation of law no 102 of 1983 on protected areas was in tandem with the declaration of Ras Mohamed, the first national park in Egypt, in south Sinai, followed by establishment of 27 protectorates all over Egypt covering 15% of Egypt's total area. Since 1980 until now, many skills and experiences have been gained to improve protected areas management and biodiversity conservation. The first phase, during eighties, was distinguished by comprehensive protection, while the second phase during nineties, was distinguished by conservation and sustainable development, and currently the main target is comprehensive ecosystem management which depends on applying integrated ecosystem for human being welfare, as well as achieving 2010 target (reducing the rate of biodiversity loss).

In 2013, Egypt was Africa’s second largest crude steel producer after South Africa and the world’s eighth largest producer of direct reduced iron. In addition, Egypt was a key producer of nitrogen fertilizer, phosphate rock, and cement. Mineral-based and metal commodities produced by companies in Egypt included secondary copper, gold, direct reduced iron, ferroalloys, iron ore, crude steel, tin, manganese, and aluminum. Industrial minerals produced by Egypt included basalt, barite, dolomite, granite, fluorspar, sandstone, limestone, marble, salt, quartz, sulfur, and sand. Production of fuel minerals included crude oil and condensate, coal, and natural gas. Throughout the year, the extractive industries 2 Extractive Industries Sector sector has been a driver of growth for the 1 Egyptian economy, however, since 2011 the 0 sector has been underperforming. The -1 extractive industries sector recorded growth -2 rates of -2.7% and -4.1% in FY 2013/14 and -3 2014/15 respectively.
