About the Canadian Elite League (CEBL)

The Canadian Elite Basketball League is a domestic professional basketball league with teams located across Canada. The CEBL provides sports fans with a premium entertainment option while also allowing players, coaches and other stakeholders the opportunity to engage in the sport of basketball at the highest level. The CEBL operates in accordance with the player and referee standards set by Canada Basketball, the National Sporting Organization for the sport of Basketball in Canada. The league will proudly adhere to the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) rules and regulations.

The Fraser Valley Bandits are looking for a qualified self-starter who is ready to assist the operations team. The successful candidate must have a passion for sports and should be looking to impact the community in which they work.

Responsibilities: (Included but not limited to) • Actively contributing to and assisting with the Fraser Valley Bandits’ administrative duties • Ongoing support for key facets of the team’s overall business objectives • Support for key departments including but not limited to; operations, sales, marketing • Liaise with organizational constituents as required ensuring all work is completed efficiently • Assist and execute team events as required • Creation of content and team documentation in accordance with the Bandits and the CEBL’s mission and vision • General administrative support for the team’s head office as assigned • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: • Currently studying sport management, business, event management or in a related field • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite applications is considered an asset • Valid Driver’s License

Required Skills: • A proven work ethic with experience working in the sport industry • Able to meet deadlines as assigned • Able to work autonomously as well as in a team environment

Availability: • Some evening and weekend work may be required. • Projected term of internship will be September 9, 2019 – December 20, 2019

Compensation: • The successful candidate must be earning academic credit for completion of the internship. This is an unpaid position.
