Sarnia Sting Hockey Club 1455 London Road Sarnia, ON N7S 6K7 JOB TITLE Manager, Game Day Operations & Special Events REPORTS TO Geoffrey Hare – Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Partnerships Jake Bourrie - Manager of Marketing & Digital Media JOB PURPOSE The Game Presentation & Special Events Coordinator position is an integral part of the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club. This position is responsible for the organization and activation of all game day elements, including but not limited to corporate sponsorship activations, event staffing, and event planning. The ideal candidate has experience in creating and directing live entertainment for large events, with a background in sports preferred but not required. They will be a strong communicator who is able to lead and direct staff and volunteers under fast-paced conditions. We are looking for a candidate with new ideas for engaging a live audience. They will be a self-starter that has a strong work ethic and is able to work on multiple projects at the same time. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage all game inventory for corporate partnerships, marketing, and group sales needs • Develop and update game trackers and scripts to ensure all activation and presentation goals are met • Plan and execute theme nights that enhance the fan experience and increase ticket sales revenue • Management of all club Game Day Staff and volunteers, including hiring, scheduling and payroll • Design and create unique in game video and graphic elements to enhance the in-game experience. • Assist with the design and creation of the Club’s marketing materials using Adobe Suite Programs. • Actively seek opportunities for improving overall in-game experience • Manage/ Coordinate all Sarnia Sting Special Events such as Canada Day Parade, Season Ticket Holder Events & more. • Manage/Coordinate additional events hosted at Progressive Auto Sales Arena involving LED rentals • Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS • Prior experience in the sports industry or special event planning preferred • An understanding and passion for the game of hockey and the Ontario Hockey League. • Must be extremely organized, with strong communication skills (written and verbal) • Creative, out of the box thinker • Proficient with Microsoft Applications and Google Docs • Proven experience working with Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro • Experience with Motion Rocket, Dachtronics, or similar software an asset • Adobe InDesign, After Effects, and Illustrator an asset WORKING CONDITIONS This position requires regular evening and weekend work.
