Only a Few Days Left for the Glass Pumpkin Auction! Two glass pumpkins, created by MIT Glass Lab director Peter Houk and technical instructor Olivia Cheo especially for MITCoSTx, are up for auction. October 1 @ 5:00 pm - The Texas Medical Center and COVID-19 Hear about how the Texas Medical Center is addressing this challenge of COVID-19 from Dr. Edward Septimus, on the steering committee for the Center for Antimicrobial Resistance and Microbial Genomics at the McGovern Medical School and on the faculty of the Department of Population Medicine, Harvard Medical School. October 4 @ 2:00 pm - Equity and Inclusion Discussion: "Thank You For Voting” We turn to a non-partisan view of voting in America, the history of voting rights for persons of color and ways to educate and motivate voters. Our focus will be "Thank You for Voting: The Maddening, Enlightening, Inspiring Truth About Voting in America,” recently published by Texas native Erin Geiger Smith who will join our discussion. Still time to show your MITCoSTx spirit and mask up! These embroidered washable face masks are made from 4-ply ring spun cotton fabric reinforced with hemmed edges. They are 5 3/8" x 7". One size fits most. Cotton straps are soft with natural give to adjust. As with most fabric masks, they are non-medical and have not been FDA cleared or approved. $14 for one, $25 for two (includes postage). $5.00 per mask will be donated to the MIT COVID fund.
