Download Sermon Notes Spiritual Conflict Part 3 March 6, 2016 Special Ops R.O.M Review Origin of sin Fall of Lucifer, who becomes Satan, set up a rival kingdom in the second heaven and opposes everything God does on earth. Satan then carries his wrecking ball of lies and deception to planet earth. The fall of man sin brought a curse on the human race and the earth. God promises satan’s demise. As people populated the earth, we see the Satanic plot to pollute the human race and the rise of the Nephilim. In Genesis 6, wickedness is so great that God decides to destroy the human race and save one good man, Noah. Flood Noahic covenant Rainbow. It seemed to this point that Satan had succeeded in ruining everything that God had created. This Week A new beginning and Special Ops. R.O.M. Redemption of Man. Genesis 10 is called The Table of Nations by Bible scholars. Genesis 10:13 and 67 NKJV Now this is the genealogy of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And sons were born to them after the flood. 2 T he sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras. 3 T he sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah. 6 T he sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan. 7 T he sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabtechah; and the sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan. The sons of Japheth and Ham are mentioned as root names of nations who join in a coalition to destroy Israel in the end times. Ezekiel 38:19 NKJV Now the word of the L ORD came to me, saying, 2 “ Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, 3 a nd say, ‘Thus says the Lord G OD: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. 4 I will turn you 1 around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords. 5 P ersia, Ethiopia, and Libya are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; 6 G omer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops—many people are with you. 7 “ Prepare yourself and be ready, you and all your companies that are gathered about you; and be a guard for them. 8 A fter many days you will be visited. In the latter years you will come into the land of those brought back from the sword and gathered from many people on the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate; they were brought out of the nations, and now all of them dwell safely.9 Y ou will ascend, coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops and many peoples with you.” Genesis 10 Semitic tribes and the Jews come from Shem, the best and most favored of the three. Genesis 10:810 NKJV 8 C ush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth. 9 H e was a mighty hunter before the LORD ; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD .” 10 A nd the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. Genesis 11:19 NKJV God confused the languages Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. 2 A nd it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. 3 T hen they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. 4 A nd they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” 5 B ut the LORD came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. 6 A nd the L ORD said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. 7 C ome, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” 8 S o the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. 9 T herefore its name is called 2 Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the earth; and from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth. This was an early attempt at empirical dominance that later became Babylon. That Empire was toppled by the obedience and courage of Daniel and his three friends. Conclude tables of nations with Genesis 10:32 Genesis 10:32 NKJV These w ere the families of the sons of Noah, according to their generations, in their nations; and from these the nations were divided on the earth after the flood. All of us descended from here. Note only the Bible gives the original accurate account of this Genesis (beginnings). After all this panoramic scene, with all its developments and consequences, God radically changes gears and concentrates His attention on one man. There was something God had to do He wouldn’t just make the Savior of humanity magically appear, God i s legal, He makes the rules and follows the rules. He would work in history, He had to work with humanity so the redemptive purpose came from the exact descendants of Adam and Eve. He chose one man Abram His name means “exalted father.” It’s ironic. Kind of embarrassing. He had no kids. He wasn’t able. (Abraham is called the father of our faith kind of ironic.) Without God's grace (a divine enablement) we have no ability to produce everlasting fruit and godliness. We would be as helpless as Abram was before he met God. Genesis 17:15 NLT When Abram was ninetynine years old, the L ORD appeared to him and said, “I am ElShaddai—‘God Almighty.’ Serve me faithfully and live a blameless life. 2 I will make a covenant with you, by which I will guarantee to give you countless descendants.” 3 A t this, Abram fell face down on the ground. Then God said to him, 4 “ This is my covenant with you: I will make you the father of a multitude of nations! 5 W hat’s more, I am changing your name. It will no longer be Abram. Instead, you will be called Abraham, for you will be the father of many nations. Sign of the Covenant of Circumcision 3 Genesis 17:10 NLT 10 T his is the covenant that you and your descendants must keep: Each male among you must be circumcised. Then He changed their names and put His name with theirs. Abram to Abraham and Sarai to Sarah El Shaddai. God promises inheritance and a son. Conclude The Abrahamic covenant marks the beginning of a redemptive plan to save the human race, destroy the devil and cancel the reign of sin and death forever, so nothing in the Universe remained to challenge the righteousness of God or erode the eternal security of His children. As we come to the end of the first phase of the spiritual conflict series, I want to briefly reflect back on the book of Genesis that we have been studying. Genesis means book of beginnings. It begins an accurate true defining of the four main questions facing humanity. 1. Who am I? 2. Where did I come from? 3. Why am I here? 4. Where am I going when I die? There are only two worldviews about where we all came from that answer these questions. First evolution, or the Big Bang theory; things just kind of happened, or secondly planned, intelligent design by a Master Creator and Designer. The Bible is the book that is based on a revelation of God Himself and all the intelligent design and planning that makes up our universe and for that matter, our own existence. The Bible is an integrated message from outside of time; 66 books from 40 authors, over a period of almost 2000 years. All the messages are cohesive and flow together into one continual theme; written by the Holy Spirit, inspired men who for the most part did not know each other or live in the same time period. One third of the whole Bible is prophecy; many times predicting events thousands of years before they happen. It's the only book that accurately describes what happened before time began. The creation of the Angels, the rebellion of Lucifer in the origin of sin, the creation of the earth, the creation of man and his fall, the flood, the repopulation of the 4 earth, the accurate table of nations and their origins, and finally the launching of God's redemptive plan its continuance and its conclusion and how it all affects us, and where we fit in it all.

The Revelation of Jesus Christ “Gog and Magog” Revelation 20:7-10; Ezekiel 38 & 39 Introduction Revelation 20:1-6 presents the reality of Jesus Christ reigning over all the earth for 1000 years while Satan is locked up in the Abyss. In Revelation 20:7-10, John records the vision where Satan is released from the Abyss at the end of the Millennial Reign of Christ. Satan is then able to gather an army of rebels from all nations (“Gog and Magog”) to come against Christ in Jerusalem. This battle is referred to as the “Battle of Gog and Magog”. But there is also a battle of “Gog and Magog” mentioned in Ezekiel 38 & 39. Are these two battles the same? The Scripture makes it clear that there are two separate battles which carry the reference to “Gog and Magog”. Consideration of these battles will powerfully demonstrate that sinful men continue in their sinful rebellion against God, even after His glorious 1000-year reign of peace and prosperity. It is not surprising that God will judge those who reject His salvation through Jesus. I. The Historical Roots of Gog and Magog Gen. 10:2; Ez. 38:2,15; 39:3-9 A. • The Garment of Adam in Jewish, Muslim, and Christian Tradition
24 The Garmentof Adam in Jewish, Muslim, and ChristianTradition Stephen D. Ricks Although rarely occurring in any detail, the motif of Adam's garment appears with surprising frequency in ancient Jewish and Christian literature. (I am using the term "Adam's garment" as a cover term to include any garment bestowed by a divine being to one of the patri archs that is preserved and passed on, in many instances, from one generation to another. I will thus also consider garments divinely granted to other patriarchal figures, including Noah, Abraham, and Joseph.) Although attested less often than in the Jewish and Christian sources, the motif also occurs in the literature of early Islam, espe cially in the Isra'iliyyiit literature in the Muslim authors al ThaclabI and al-Kisa'I as well as in the Rasii'il Ikhwiin al ~afa (Epistles of the Brethren of Purity). Particularly when discussing the garment of Adam in the Jewish tradition, I will shatter chronological boundaries, ranging from the biblical, pseudepigraphic, and midrashic references to the garment of Adam to its medieval attestations. 1 In what fol lows, I wish to consider (1) the garment of Adam as a pri mordial creation; (2) the garment as a locus of power, a symbol of authority, and a high priestly garb; and (3) the garment of Adam and heavenly robes. 2 705 706 STEPHEN D. RICKS 1. The Garment of Adam as a Primordial Creation The traditions of Adam's garment in the Hebrew Bible begin quite sparely, with a single verse in Genesis 3:21, where we are informed that "God made garments of skins for Adam and for his wife and clothed them." Probably the oldest rabbinic traditions include the view that God gave garments to Adam and Eve before the Fall but that these were not garments of skin (Hebrew 'or) but instead gar ments of light (Hebrew 'or).

  • The Sixteen Grandsons of Noah (H. Hunt with R
The Sixteen Grandsons of Noah (H. Hunt with R. Grigg) Secular history gives much evidence to show that the survivors of Noah’s Flood were real historical figures, whose names were indelibly carved on much of the ancient world… When Noah and his family stepped out of the Ark, they were the only people on Earth. It fell to Noah’s three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and their wives, to repopulate the earth through the children that were born to them after the Flood. Of Noah’s grandchildren, 16 grandsons are named in Genesis chapter 10. God has left us ample evidence to confirm that these 16 grandsons of Noah really lived, that the names the Bible gives were their exact names, and that after the Babel dispersion (Genesis 11) their descendants fanned out over the earth and established the various nations of the ancient world. The first generations after the Flood lived to be very old, with some men outliving their children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. This set them apart. The 16 grandsons of Noah were the heads of their family clans, which became large populations in their respective areas. Several things happened: a) Various areas called themselves by the name of the man who was their common ancestor. b) They called their land, and often their major city and major river, by his name. c) Sometimes the various nations fell off into ancestor worship. When this happened, it was natural for them to name their god after the man who was ancestor of all of them, or to claim their long-living ancestor as their god.

Jewish community and civic commune in the high Middle Ages'' CHRISTOPH CLUSE 1. The following observations do not aim to provide a comprehensive phe nomenology of the J ewish community during the high and late medieval periods. Rather 1 wish to present the outlines of a model which describes the status of the Jewish community within the medieval town or city, and to ask how the concepts of >inclusion< and >exclusion< can serve to de scribe that status. Using a number of selected examples, almost exclusively drawn from the western regions of the medieval German empire, 1 will concentrate, first, on a comparison betweenJewish communities and other corporate bodies (>universitates<) during the high medieval period, and, secondly, on the means by which Jews and Jewish communities were included in the urban civic corporations of the later Middle Ages. To begin with, 1 should point out that the study of the medieval Jewish community and its various historical settings cannot draw on an overly rich tradition in German historical research. 1 The >general <historiography of towns and cities that originated in the nineteenth century accorded only sporadic attention to the J ews. Still, as early as 1866 the legal historian Otto Stobbe had paid attention to the relationship between the Jewish ::- The present article first appeared in a slightly longer German version entitled Die mittelalterliche jüdische Gemeinde als »Sondergemeinde« - eine Skizze. Genesis 10-11 Study ID#12ID1337 Alright, shall we open our Bibles tonight to Genesis 10. If you're just joining us on Wednesday, you're only nine chapters behind. So you can catch up, all of those are online, they are in video, they are on audio. We are working on translating all of our studies online into Spanish. It'll take awhile, but it's being done. We are also transcribing every study so that you can have a written copy of all that's said. You won't have to worry about notes. It'll all be there, the Scriptures will be there. So that's also in the process. It'll take awhile, but that's the goal and the direction we're heading. So you can keep that in your prayers. Tonight we want to continue in our in-depth study of this book of beginnings, the book of Genesis, and we've seen a lot if you've been with us. We looked at the beginning of the earth, and the beginning of the universe, and the beginning of mankind, and the origin of marriage, and the beginning of the family, and the beginning of sacrifice and worship, and the beginning of the gospel message, way back there in Chapter 3, verse 15, when the LORD promised One who would come that would crush the head of the serpent, preached in advance. We've gone from creation to the fall, from the curse to its conseQuences. We watched Abel and then Cain in a very ungodly line that God doesn't track very far.

  • Nimrod's False Religion
WHY WE PUBLISH THE SCRIPTURES and NIMROD’S FALSE RELIGION N. Sebastian Desent, Ph.D., Th.D., D.D., Pastor, Historic Baptist Church In Genesis chapter 1 we find that in the beginning God created all things. God created man, and man understood the true nature of God. People were mono-theists, and knew the true God was the Creator. Although not all men worshipped and obeyed the true God, they knew there was only one God (Genesis chapter 6). This standard understanding continued after the fall, and even continues until today; however, a false religion soon appeared after God created Adam and Eve (Genesis 3). Satan corrupted mono-theism by claiming man could become as gods. This is still the great lie: that man can become a god and never die. These were the lies he spoke in the garden when tempting Eve (Genesis 3). Consequently, we can prove through study, that: • All false religions are Satanic and have him as a common origin. • All false religions can be traced to this same beginning – to Satan himself. He is the corrupter of the true religion of the Creator. • All false religions are similar in nature and function. They teach that man can be elevated to be like God. The second function is to degrade (bring down) the true God. Satan’s lie (that man can be as God), and his desire that caused his own fall (“I will be like the most high” – Isaiah 14:13, 14) have not changed. Satan wants man to think he, too, can be deified.

Written Testimony of Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) National President Morton A. Klein1 Hearing on: A NEW HORIZON IN U.S.-ISRAEL RELATIONS: FROM AN AMERICAN EMBASSY IN JERUSALEM TO POTENTIAL RECOGNITION OF ISRAELI SOVEREIGNTY OVER THE GOLAN HEIGHTS Before the House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on National Security Tuesday July 17, 2018, 10:00 a.m. Rayburn House Office Building, Room 2154 Chairman Ron DeSantis (R-FL) Ranking Member Stephen Lynch (D-MA) Introduction & Summary Chairman DeSantis, Vice Chairman Russell, Ranking Member Lynch, and Members of the Committee: Thank you for holding this hearing to discuss the potential for American recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, in furtherance of U.S. national security interests. Israeli sovereignty over the western two-thirds of the Golan Heights is a key bulwark against radical regimes and affiliates that threaten the security and stability of the United States, Israel, the entire Middle East region, and beyond. The Golan Heights consists of strategically-located high ground, that provides Israel with an irreplaceable ability to monitor and take counter-measures against growing threats at and near the Syrian-Israel border. These growing threats include the extremely dangerous hegemonic expansion of the Iranian-Syrian-North Korean axis; and the presence in Syria, close to the Israeli border, of: Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Quds forces; thousands of Iranian-armed Hezbollah fighters; Palestinian Islamic Jihad (another Iranian proxy); Syrian forces; and radical Sunni Islamist groups including the al Nusra Levantine Conquest Front (an incarnation of al Qaeda) and ISIS. The Iranian regime is attempting to build an 800-mile land bridge to the Mediterranean, running through Iraq and Syria.

  • EZEKIEL 38-39 23 Summary of the Conflict
Lesson EZEKIEL 38-39 23 Summary of the Conflict In the latter years, Gog of Magog, with a mighty army of allies, will come up against God’s people like a cloud, to plunder and pillage. In His wrath and fury, God will call for a sword against Gog, raining down on him and his troops flooding rain, hailstones, fire, and brimstone. God will knock the bow out his left hand, and cause the arrows to fall out of his right hand. Summary of the Conflict Gog and his army will fall upon the mountains of Israel, and be left to the birds of prey and the beasts of the field (a nice supper for them). Israel will burn the weapons left by Gog’s troops, which will give them enough wood to build fires for 7 years. It will take 7 months (and then some) for Israel to bury all the bodies in the appointed burial place (necessary to cleanse the land). A Lesson Learned by All “I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the LORD” (38:23). “I will set My glory among the nations; all the nations shall see My judgment which I have executed, and My hand which I have laid on them” (39:21). “So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day forward” (39:22). Comfort For God’s People “I hid My face from them…I gave them into the hand of their enemies…according to their transgressions I have dealt with them, and hidden My face from them” (39:23-24).

  • Gog and Magog
Gog and Magog By Mark Mayberry 7/25/2010 The names of Gog and Magog are both historic and symbolic. Magog, son of Japheth and grandson of Noah, is listed in the table of nations (Gen. 10:1-2; 1 Chron. 1:5). Gog was a descendant of Reuben, the eldest son of Jacob/Israel (1 Chron. 5:1-4). The only other occurrences of these names are in Ezekiel 38-39, which portrays the church’s struggle against the forces of persecution, and Revelation 20:7-10, which depicts Satan’s final assault against the saints. Genesis 10:1-2 ... 1 Now these are the records of the generations of Shem, Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah; and sons were born to them after the flood. 2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer and Magog and Madai and Javan and Tubal and Meshech and Tiras. (NASB95) 1 Chronicles 1:5 ... 5 The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech and Tiras. (NASB95) 1 Chronicles 5:1-4 ... 1 Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn, but because he defiled his father‟s bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; so that he is not enrolled in the genealogy according to the birthright. 2 Though Judah prevailed over his brothers, and from him came the leader, yet the birthright belonged to Joseph), 3 the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel were Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi. 4 The sons of Joel were Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son, (NASB95) In Ezekiel 38-39, Gog of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal, represents evil forces marshaled against God.
