We have vowed on the conviction that there is no greater honour than sacrificing one’s life for one’s own country. He attended the Political School for High Ranking Cadres situated in Vietnam in 1964, and in 1978 attended the Military Academy in the Soviet Union. He also studied at the Political and Administrative School in Vietnam in 1993. He joined the Lao Revolutionary movement in 1954 and became a member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party in 1955. From 1955 to 1956, he participated in the defense of the revolutionary bases and liberated zones and became a Deputy Chief of unit in 1959. In 1962, he served as an officer for political affairs of the 5th Battalion and in 1964 was promoted to Commander of the 2nd Battalion. From 1968 to 1975, he served as Chief of Joint Staff in Major Keosaychay Sayasone.
